"Kai?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
"What’s wrong?" My hear dropped into my stomach.
His pupils were dilated but he wasn’t looking at me. He was looking behind me. I turned to see what he was looking at. Eventually, my eyes found exactly what it was. A woman at the edge of the park. She was looking at me, her eyes glared with anger before she looked at Kai.
I looked back at him, he looking like he was gonna jump out of his skin if he couldn’t go to her. In just a few short seconds, my world came crashing in on me. I knew what was happening. Why would this happen right now? Of all times? Couldn’t this happen without me present? Or hell, before we kissed?
