The next few days passed like a surreal dream. Sean fell into the routine of doing the chores while I rested. He fed the woodstove and cut some firewood from the dead and fallen trees in the forest. He hauled the water from the stream as usual for him, and became the chef and dishwasher! I sensed his love for the cabin and how this remote lifestyle was natural to him. Knowing that my well-being was in the hands of a knowledgeable and experienced outdoorsman, I was able to let my survival fears go. My stress level dropped and the constant tension I carried eased and exhaustion took over. Sleep breeds sleep. I found myself napping most of the time while Kaela slept. My sleep pattern eased my exhaustion and I began to relax and enjoy the spring days. Sean made a cradle for Kaela to sleep in
