"Transylvania?" I asked. "Isn't that where Dracula lives?"
"Yes," he replied. "That's where I lived until I was six years old."
"Were you a vampire then?"
He smiled.
"I guess you could say that," he said. "But I wasn't strong enough to transform into a full-fledged vampire until I was ten."
"How long did it take you to learn how to control it?"
"About three months," he answered.
"Does that mean that you're immortal?"
"Not exactly," he said. "We have to drink blood every day or else we'll die within a few days."
"How many times does that happen per year?"
"On average, I'd say about five times," he replied. "Once during the night and four more times during the day."
I remembered what Kelly had told me about the vampires.
