Chapter 3

1401 Words
I'm an early riser. I sat on my sit, expecting her to walk in any second from now. Judging from the way I left yesterday, I might get punished just the second day in my new school. I groaned, hitting my head on my locker lightly only to look up after to see the mysterious lady with my color of eyes. Like always, her eyes locked with mine, a blush on her face. She took off her glasses, slowly walking to her seat. She was different from yesterday and why the hell does she hide those glasses? I had a feeling she really needed them. I shut my eyes, I still felt weak. I need to figure out what caused that reaction. She made no effort to talk to me so I didn't either. …… I walked out of the principal office, my bag slung on my shoulder. I got away with only a warning since I was new I guess. The bell rang, it's lunch time I'm guessing. I kept walking, I was close to my locker when someone tripped me. I could have done a front flip to steady myself but this is school life. I played my part and fell, it wasn't that bad though it caught the attention of some students. “ Well well well. Look what we have here.” A guy said, his hands in his pocket and a frown on his face. I stood up and packed my bag contents. There was no time for this. My cold lifeless eyes met his. He took a step back, fear evident but immediately masked with anger. I kept walking, ignoring the stares and the mummers. I didn't have the strength for this. “ You b***h!” he screamed running straight towards me. He spun me, his fist aiming for my face. Out of reflex, I dodged. ‘ Should have just taken the blow.’ I thought while looking at his pissed face. While I was still thinking, he closed the distance between us, a punch landing on my guts. ‘ Why does it hurt? Oh yeah, I haven't fully recovered yet.’ I thought as I dropped to the ground. He signaled to his guys. They helped me up holding me in place. I rose my head a little, why were they all looking... Laughing... Whispering? I clenched my hands, I wasn't angry. I was measuring their strength. It was nothing compared to mine but I couldn't cause a scene second day of school. I took his punches, bore the pain and never once fought back. So why the hell was he still beating me 15 minutes later. The bell rang, students walked past me heading to class and I didn't even mind. Until I rose my head again to see those pretty pair of green eyes. She was walking with some other girls who didn't even spare me a glance. Her hands were clenched tightly, she looked angry. She stopped walking, letting the others walk farther away before slowly advancing towards us. The halls were deserted now but this i***t was still hitting me. I thought I was okay, I've been through worse but it was like my body kept trying to remind me I'm ill. My stomach clenched and turned, the next blow made me cough out blood. There was a smirk on his face... He finally got what he wanted I guess. Bella walked over, halting right next to me. ‘ She's gonna do something crazy.’ I thought my eyes telling her to walk away. He stopped, his guys finally left me and down I went. He cleaned his hands finally taking his eyes off me. “ What do you want?” He asked, looking at her. She hesitated, panic in her eyes. “ You shouldn't be beating up ladies. It makes you look...” she said taking a step back. “ See I don't give a damn who you think you are, you talk to me like that again and I might just beat you also.” He warned, his filthy hand on her chin. “ Or maybe I'll take care of your pretty body first.” he said with a nasty grin, his lusty eyes running through her body. I was enraged now, he doesn't get to say filthy things about her. “ You lay a hand on her again and you'll be missing few fingers.” I said in a dark, dangerous tone. He dropped his hand, a look of fear on his face because he knew I would do it. They were all taken by surprise. As soon as he recovered, he launched towards me, about to hit me when a voice stopped him. “ Christ! 3 guys beating up 2 girls? To my office, the 3 of you. Bella, take her to the nurse.” he said, his eyes blazing with fury. Bella nodded, immediately helping me up. ……… I gently pushed her away. “ I'm fine, you should head for class now.” I said, my bag slung across my shoulder. “ Where are you going looking like this?” she asked carefully, a blush spreading on her face. “ Home.” I said walking away. My stomach really hurts but I'll deal with that when I get home. “ I'll come with you.” she voiced running to me. I stopped and turn to face her “ Don't skip classes, it would ruin your reputation.” I said in a straight voice. I walked away, leaving her behind. At least she didn't try to follow me anymore. ……… I popped some pills in my mouth, slowly getting rid of my hoodie. Just like I guessed, I was bleeding. I slid to the floor, my back resting on the door. ‘When did I get this weak?’ I asked myself with my eyes shut. I need to find what's causing all this reactions. ………… I woke up from the banging on my door. My eyes scanned the room for the nearest clock. It was 5 in the evening. The person knocked again, a voice following after. “ Promise, it's me. I waited until after school before coming here.” she said softly. I grunted as I stood up, my hands dancing through my short curls. I slowly unlocked the door, lovely green eyes meeting mine. “ I'm fine, go home.” I said in a hoarse voice. I was dehydrated and most especially still weak. Her eyes ran through my body. Her eyes glued on my shirt. “ You're bleeding.” she whispered, her eyes meeting mine again. I looked at my shirt, I was too tired to even clean myself up. “ Go home.” I said and made to close the door but she pushed back. “ I just wanna help.” she said in a low tone. I sighed, I felt like I would throw up anytime from now. “ It's late. I'll see you in school.” I said and made to close the door when my stomach churned and turned. I rested on the wall, slowly heading for my room. She supported me after locking up, helping me to my bed. “ Why did you do that?” she whispered, slowly unbuttoning my shirt. My eyes were glued on her, what was she talking about anyways? “ Why did I do what?” I asked as I finally got rid of my shirt. She ran a finger through my stomach, her finger gently resting on the bruised area. “ Why didn't you fight back. What made you let them do this to you.” she said, squeezing a towel and using it to clean my stomach. “ I don't know.” I replied dryly, my hand holding her's. She paused, her eyes meeting mine. “ It hurts.” I whispered, letting go of her hand. She sighed, dropping the towel and getting an ointment from my first aid kit. “ You just don't want to tell me, do you?” she said applying the cold ointment on my bruise. “ You're right, I don't want you to know.” I said much to her surprise. “ I don't know you neither trust you but you act like you've known me for years.” I said with a straight face. “ That's because I've known you for years.” she whispered realization hitting me hard.
