Chapter Two

1727 Words
Aria: I followed Victoria like a lost puppy, until we arrived at the pack’s garden. She threw a heavy bag at me, nearly sending me to the floor. “"Trim all of the flowers; your tools are in there. Once you're done, head over—" she started, but I cut her short. “I’m not meant to do all of these, this is not..” I wanted to do what every annoyed person in my state would do; complain. This wasn’t even my job. But before I could reach halfway, her right hand had landed on my cheeks, making my cheeks turn red almost immediately. “You have no right to question me, b***h! Do as I’ve said. Trim, then hurry to the toilet and scrub the whole floors. I’m off to meet Jake.” She brushed past me, and my stomach twisted into knots at what I’d just heard. Following her instructions would take me nothing less than 5 hours, but I had no choice. I couldn't spend another day in the dungeon. I got lucky and brushed hard and fast, managing to finish in 4 hours and returning home late. Exhausted, I found Chloe, who should be in bed but was all glammed up, obviously heading out. "Going somewhere?" I asked the most obvious question, dropping the bag. "Yes, yes! Today's Jasper's birthday, and he's celebrating it at a hotel. Care to join me?" Her eyes beamed with excitement as she spoke those words. Jasper was her mate, so there was every reason to be happy. I needed to clear my head, and that seemed like the perfect idea to do so. No one could stop us since omegas weren't restricted from attending parties. We just had to return early and continue our daily activities. It's safe to say I never attended parties, as I usually spent my time with Jake at bookshops or by the large river in front of his house – our favorite spot. I preferred sitting on the green grass, engaging in conversations on various topics while we threw stones into the river, rather than standing in this noisy bar with blaring music and almost blinding lights. “Hmph.”Chloe sighed, slinging her bag over her shoulders tightly before turning toward me. I didn't need anyone to tell me what would happen next; I saw Jasper approaching, his cheeks flushed with excitement, almost turning red. He pulled her into a tight hug, and they both chuckled loudly while I stood there, feeling invisible. "Be back in an hour, Aria! Take care of yourself," Chloe tapped my back and almost immediately, I watched them stroll away, Chloe jiggling her butt and playing intimately with Jasper. I remained rooted there, realizing Chloe just left me in a place I've never been to. s**t! The sight of ladies locking lips and smooching men all over made my stomach churn, prompting me to turn and leave, but unfortunately, I collided with a really big figure.Expecting to find myself on the floor when I opened my eyes, I was instead in the arms of the most handsome man I'd ever seen, gazing into his ocean-blue eyes. I jerked myself up instantly, attempting to smooth out my disheveled clothes. "I'm... sorry," I stuttered, trying to keep my composure. He stared at me for minutes, as though I resembled someone he knew. When I finally parted my lips to speak, he walked past me. I felt embarrassed. Damn! I took a seat and I in few minutes, I wasted no time downing my fourth shot of tequila. I hissed as dizziness set in, and my head began to spin from the alcohol. I rose up and walked wobbly towards the restroom, desperate to relieve myself. Oddly, there were no other women in the restroom, which was quite unusual. I proceeded to use the facilities, but just as I finished washing my hands and turned to leave, someone entered. My mouth hung open when I realized he was the same guy I'd bumped into earlier, a real Greek god in looks. "What are you doing in the ladies' room?" I blurted out, struggling to keep my balance. "Excuse me?" His hoarse voice echoed in a way that sent shivers down my spine, adrenaline rushing through my veins. Before I knew it, a wave of dizziness hit, and my vision started to blur. He noticed and came over, offering a hand to help me regain my footing. There was something about his touch and presence that I couldn’t quite explain. "Are you alright?" He inquired, and for a brief moment, a shiver coursed through me. My gaze shifted to the inscription in the top right corner of the room: "Male's restroom." "Damn!" I cussed, and his surprised expression met my eyes. His piercing blue eyes, finely chiseled jawline, and brown hair framing his perfect face captivated my attention. His lips, full and alluring, made me wish I could lean in and lose myself in a kiss, forever. "Young lady, are you all right?" His deep voice snapped me out of my daydream, and I shook my head, though it throbbed painfully. His gentle hands on my shoulders provided some relief. My own hands clung to him, weakened by the alcohol. He began to step back, but I pulled him nearer. "Please, don't leave," I whispered, squinting my eyes, and he leaned in closer. There was definitely admiration in his eyes, and I could see it clearly. His hands cupped my face, fingers lightly on my waist, and then his lips met mine. I gasped, surprised by the softness of his kiss. “Uhm..” he tried to pull away, but I held him close and deepened the kiss. His wide-eyed look mirrored my own shock, and despite my inebriation, the desire for him consumed me. He nibbled my lower lip, and a soft moan escaped my lips as I gently ran my fingers through his hair. Another gasp slipped out when his hands began to trace a path down my thighs, and he lifted my right leg. Our lips remained locked as he carried me with my right leg onto the countertop, my back against the large mirror. He didn't break the kiss as he slowly hiked up my black dress, slipping off my panties to reveal how aroused I was. "Should I..go in?" He asked, trousers down, and a moment of fear swept over me. "Ye..ss," I nodded, and he gave a faint smile. I let out soft moans of pleasure,as he thrusted into me slowly. **** I stirred from sleep, rubbing my eyes with a sense of confusion about my surroundings. This place wasn't familiar to me. I turned my head to the side and noticed the morning light casting its glow upon his face. I didn't even know his name, yet I… I abruptly sat up, and as I did, I realized I was completely undressed, just like he was. The memories of the previous night rushed back – the alcohol, ending up in the men's restroom, his arrival, and how... we had intimate relations. My heart raced in my chest as the truth hit me: I'd engaged in a one-night stand with a total stranger. "s**t!" I muttered, realizing it was already 7:00 a.m. I needed to rush back to the pack house and take care of my chores, hoping no one would find out where I'd been or what I'd done. Quickly, I got dressed and hurriedly left the room, making my way to the pack house. Fortunately, the hotel he'd taken me to wasn't too far from the pack house. I actually couldn't recall ever seeing such a face in the pack. Who then was he? "Where have you been, Aria?" Chloe shook me, after I walked in,looking so disheveled. "I'll explain everything once I finish my chores today, alright?" My voice trembled, and deep down, I knew I might never find the words to explain. "Here's the Luna's coffee. You should head over now," she said, nodding toward a cup of coffee placed on the wooden table. I picked up the tray carefully, mindful not to drop it like the last time, which had led to a severe beating, almost losing my life. I was so thankful the Luna's room wasn't too far from mine, so I made it there in no time. I took quick steps, praying silently that the tray wouldn't fall, and eventually reached the Luna's door. Letting out a sigh,I placed my hand on the doorknob, but froze when I heard my name being mentioned. Curiosity got the best of me, and I attempted to eavesdrop on their conversation. "Aria has been such a diligent girl," the unmistakable voice of the Luna echoed through the door, and I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. "At least, she recognizes all the effort I put in, and she values it," I thought to myself, humming softly. But the next words that followed left me gasping in shock. "But she has to be sold tomorrow. She can't stay in this pack any longer," Luna Amber said, her voice oozing with no pity, as if I were a mere servant. "That's a valid point. Hmm... So, who's the intended buyer?" I recognized the Alpha's voice instantly. Were the Alpha and Luna really planning to sell me off? I clutched the tray tightly, my hands trembling. I prayed it wasn't Marcus. He was a despicable man who took pleasure in using the girls he purchased as s*x t**. I couldn't bear the thought of that. "It's Marcus; he's already paid for her," Luna Amber said, her words causing tears to well up in my eyes. How did my life turn so badly with my mate rejecting me, having a one night stand with a total stranger, and now I’m getting sold? Terrible , pathetic and miserable were the perfect words to describe how my life was now.I didn't even realize when the tray slipped from my trembling hands, clattering loudly onto the floor.. The door swung open, and I found myself face to face with Luna's menacing gaze. . "Damn!" I cursed under my breath, uncertain of the life-threatening punishment that awaited me. "Were you eavesdropping?" she asked, her words striking fear into my heart as if it might stop beating altogether.
