( Esther's Point of View) The silence between us was too much to bear. Every breath I took seemed to pull me deeper into the confusion I had been fighting for days. The room seemed smaller than it was, and the space between Matthew and me seemed bigger than the space between two people. It felt like the world had worked together to keep us apart from everything we used to share. I looked over at Matthew, who was sitting across the room with heavy eyes from all the things he hadn't said.
