Hunter knew from experience never to even think the words ‘Could things get any worse?’ It was the equivalent of waving a red, daring flag in front of a raging bull of karma. Yet, in that moment, he almost said the words. The distant sound of police sirens cut through the tense air like a hot knife. Everyone stiffened. Hunter shook his head. This couldn’t be happening. He looked around at the men he considered his family. They were all wealthy and prominent in society in their own way. They owned hotels, five-star restaurants, and multi-million dollar companies. They supported charities. As far as the general public knew, they had never committed a crime in their lives. Only those in certain circles knew otherwise. But if the police caught them there today, all that would change. Hunter
