“Oh, lord have mercy,” she muttered under her breath, no longer able to hold back her emotions. On a high note, her mind was temporarily distracted from the dark abyss it had been swirling in for the past twelve hours. On the other side, however, Mackenzie was about to stick her head out of the car to escape. Shaking her head in disbelief, she pressed her lips together to keep the rest of her judgmental opinions to herself. She didn’t think it would be wise to insult the man’s choice in music when there was already so much tension between them. Besides, music wasn’t really Mackenzie’s thing. She didn’t hate it, per se.
