Derrick's POV
I looked around the lounge in confusion, wondering what was going on. So did Jake. There were about twelve people in the lounge and all of them were staring directly at us.
Jake started walking and I followed closely. For a few seconds, all twelve pairs of eyes followed us, then all of them returned to whatever they were doing before we entered. The chatter resumed and the feeling that I was the topic of their conversations stuck in my throat like a morsel of food that I could neither swallow nor spit.
“What the f**k just happened?” Jake asked me as we headed towards the row of lockers on the far end of the wall.
“We entered together, remember?”
