ELISA'S POV My head rested against the cool kitchen island, the smooth surface pressing against my cheek. My body slumped forward on the stool, arms dangling limply by my side. After Kara and Mona were done doing the dishes, they had left to go do the laundry. As for me, I was just here enjoying whatever little peace I had before someone—without whom my life would be much better—came walking through that door and messing it up for me.
