“You don’t sense it? You changed me Selena, I'm a wolf.” My wolf surged to the surface and my face changed into a mix of both forms then I smelt his neck and sure enough I could smell his wolf. “How? I didn’t bite you!” I was starting to panic. “You didn’t, being around you woke him up. I'm in trouble Selena; I think I killed those 2 men in the paper. I can’t remember my changes.” I held him tightly as he trembled. “Hey it’s going to be ok, I promise.” I look down at my watch its only 3:11pm and the party didn’t start until 6pm. I race downstairs to Gwen. “Abels a wolf, I need to go somewhere quickly I will be back before the party I promise.” I kiss her cheek then run off to my truck, Abel climbs in and belts up. “I need to be here tonight ok, I can’t miss this.” I race off to Sun River; I was hoping I might be able to pick up a scent as it hadn’t rained yet. I parked as close as I could without drawing attention then stripped down and shifted. I ran quickly to the kill site and caught a scent but it wasn’t Abels it was someone else, then I ran back to the truck and changed back. “How are you able to do that? Change between the moons?” he asked in awe, I laugh I'm use to Gwen knowing everything that I never need to tell it again and Alberto had never asked. “I'm at peace with my wolf, there is no her and me it’s we or ours. She was my missing piece; I'm whole since accepting her completely. I love her.” I smile and she purrs within my mind and heart. “You didn’t kill those men, it wasn’t your scent.” I put my clothes back on and jumped back in and took off home. 10 minutes from home and Gwen calls me. “Hey you’re on speaker, what's up?” “We are having a few more guests can you buy some more meat?” “Sure how much more?” silence follows. “Gwen? You still there?” “All of it, everyone’s coming including Henry.” I shriek with happiness. “Done, how’s Henry getting here?” “Be gone girly, is Abel staying for the mem.” “Bye Gwen.” I said hanging up. “What was that about?” Abel asks, I sigh damn you Gwen! “My dad passed away one year ago today, so we are party a party to celebrate him.” He grips my hand. “Would you like to come?” I mumble quietly but I know he can hear me. “Love to.” He helped me buy out the shops meat supply and drinks and snacks. Once it was all loaded in the back of the truck we headed back to the ranch. I saw Henry and Gwen standing together and once I had parked up I raced over and hugged him tightly. “I've really missed you.” I nearly cried, he smiled and kissed my forehead. “He would be so proud of you Selena, Gwen has been filling me in.” I smile and hug Gwen. “I'm going to go and get ready, Abels staying so be nice ok.” I head up stairs to shower, I picked out the dress dad had bought for my sweet 16th. I pinned up my hair and added a few curls then headed down stairs. My dad’s voice was softly filling the house; I looked up to the sky. “I love you Daddy, I miss you.” I whispered, as the people came so did the laughter and memories. It was a great night, but as we were all sitting down eating Gwen stood up to make a toast. “Billy was loved by a lot of people but no one ever came as close to his heart as his daughter Selena, I don’t think I had ever seen Billy has happy as the moment she was born. Not many people know but before he was a singer he actually a painter and I would like to share something that no one knows about.” She lifted up a painted sketch of a baby girl in her mothers arms, it was me. “Painted the day Selena was born.” Next Ethan stood up. “I knew Billy as a child, he grew up here. He worked in the diner just as his daughter has lately, from a young age Billy loved to sing but his shyness always got the better of him until one day he picked up a microphone and never put it down. I saw the boy become a man and I saw the man become a famous artist but nothing came close to the day he became a father, he changed completely he settled down and became the legend we all know and love. Then a year ago we lost him and Selena lost her father but by some miracle his daughter comes home to Great Falls. She tried to hide who she was but you could see it in her eyes and her smile, it was Billy as a child. You’ve all seen what she and Bella did to the diner; I know many other businesses she has secretly helped.
