9. She is

It was already past midnight, so I guess talking with Nica took me more than I suspected. I didn't want to expose myself to the wrath of a certain Alpha, so I decided to leave the conversation with Nimue for tomorrow. I lie down in my bed thinking that it was most definitely a very eventful first day. I found out some pretty disturbing things about my roommate and his nympho twin. I found the one person with whom I don't think I'll be able to find a common ground, steal his girl, who apparently may be my Mate. Yup, very eventful day! I wonder what will come next, cause if I'm starting my freshmen year on sucha strong note I kind of worry what future holds. But f**k it, I'm not a coward. With that last thought I drifted off to slumber. I have no idea how that happened, but the next moment I was running through unfamiliar woods. I took a look around and I noticed that I'm in my wolf form. My brown paws quickly hit the ground and it seems to me that I was chasing something, or maybe I was running away. No, definitely chasing, I was too excited to be the prey. Suddenly out of nowhere I was tackled to the ground by another much smaller wolf. This one was definitely a female, and she was beautiful. With chestnut fur with hints of auburn on her sides and her eyes made her even more special. They were the deepest shade of chocolate brown with a few freckles of red. They looked like they were on fire. Absolutely mesmerizing. The she-wolf was towering over me pinning me hard with her front paws, but to my surprise my wolf wasn't fighting her, we could have overpower her easily. So what was going on? Did I let her win… this was so not like me. Suddenly she-wolf leaned over and licked my muzzle, something about that denser made it very intimate. And like it didn't even happen she freed me and ran away growling playfully, encouraging me to run after her. I had no other option than to follow her. No wolf would ever give up on a good hunt. I caught up to her in no time, but instead of attacking her I started nibbling on her hind legs making her run even faster. We played that game for what seemed like a lifetime just enjoying each other's company. We stopped at the clearing deep in the woods, where we just lay down and watched the sunrise curled up together. It looked like the perfect moment. And I couldn't shake the feeling that this girl next to me was Iris, my Mate. I woke up early, too early for it to be normal. I looked over at my phone and noticed it was barely 7am. My classes won't start for another two hours. Trying to make myself busy, I texted Nim, cause who knows maybe she's a morning person and I could actually have some valuable insight before I see Iris at the breakfast. 'Hey Nim, it's Victor Cargarough. I wanted to ask for a favor. Let me know when we can talk.' Few seconds after I clicked the 'send' button my phone rang. Oh she was fast. I answered immediately and her authoritative voice greeted me. "Young Alpha, I was waiting for your call yesterday." - she was a really weird chick, but hey she was my sister's friend, there had to be something wrong with her. "Hello Nim, did you foresee that I would call you?" - I asked her curiously, I never really knew how her powers worked exactly. "No Victor, your sister gave me a heads up." - she stated the obvious and I felt kind of stupid. Why haven't I thought about it?! Simplest explanations are almost always correct. "Oh, did she tell you perhaps what kind of request I have?" "Yes she did. You're wondering if Iris is really your Mate." "That's right. So did you maybe see her in my future, anything that may be helpful?" "All I can say is that she's not lying to you." - she said and somehow I felt invisible weight being lifted from my chest. Like I was secretly hoping that was true, but at the same time I was too afraid to admit it. "So she's my real Mate?! Are you sure?" - I needed to hear it from her, this all was too good to be true. "Oh Victor, you already know it yourself. Haven't you just woken up from the dream about her?" - she said with a melodic chuckle. "How did you…" "Isn't that why you wanted to talk with me, cause I know stuff? You know for such a dodger you're not that clever. " - she mocked me a bit and I rolled my eyes, it's good that she couldn't see it. "Thank you Nim, you are a real lifesaver. Say 'Hi' to Falco." "Victor…" - she interrupted. "Yeah?" "Cherish what you have." - she said with solemnity. What was that supposed to mean?! Was she afraid I would be a jerk to my own Mate?! Veronica must've spread some really unflattering rumors about me. If she weren't pregnant I would totally kick her ass. "I will, thanks again. Take care!" - with that I disconnected the call. They were only three year older than I am, and both Nimue and my sister acted like I was still in kindergarten. f*****g annoying! But at least they were of some use. So Iris Lictorn is really my other half. Wow, that's great! Now I have all the time to get to know her. I already liked what I saw so far, so I'm sure the rest would be equally perfect. However yesterday after my awkward talk with Rafael I forgot to prepare anything for our first date. Damn it! What should we do? There weren't too many options in the castle. Wait! My dream! I should take her for a run. I know she will love it, her wolf already feels the bond so it would be a whole lot of different experience for her. Ok, so that's settled. I started preparing myself for the day, but before I headed for a breakfast I took a picture of myself and send it to my brother, with a message 'That guy just met his Mate.' Vince will totally s**t bricks when he gets this. So much about not having any sibling rivalry between us.
