Her Beast Mate

chapter five

Rieka turned, she moved in circles for a few seconds, “Mate…Mate…Mate” Sophie growled loudly. Rieka tried to control Sophie but it was too late, Sophie took over already and started following the path to find her fated mate.

IN THE FOREST

Odwolf and Zeeb waited, if Alcide could sense his mate that means his mate would sense him too.

They stopped to see who would come, “Are you sure Alcide is not deceiving us?” Zeeb gave up after almost ten minutes of waiting.

“He can't express himself, I bet he doesn't know the meaning of mate either, his wolf just said that” Odwolf said slowly, keeping his wolf at alert. In case he heard a sound but it seemed Alcide’s mate was not showing anytime soon.

“Let's just continue and return him to the cave before nightfall” Zeeb sighed, he had other plans going through his head, he would take Alcide's mate.

“Let's go” Zeeb encouraged Odwolf but Odwolf's sense of hearing was deep, he heard the sound of growling and feet. “His mate is close,” he told his wolf, “I can't feel her wolf,” Odwolf wolf said honestly.

Odwolf looked at Alcide, “Is his mate human? But humans would never growl” he thought, he faced zeeb “I'll check around if I'll see his mate” Odwolf told Zeeb and walked away, Zeeb watched Odwolf walk away and brought out a pack of poisoned silver needles.

“Don't hurt him, the Alpha will be really disappointed” one of the soldiers cautioned but Zeeb ignored him and faced Alcide “I'll kill you and take your mate” he said with a dangerous smirk.

Alcide growled dangerously and broke one out of the four chains used to capture him, the soldiers fell on the floor bleeding, Zeeb moved back, Alcide didn't move a bit but he was able to attack these soldiers.

“How is it possible?” he looked concerned for the innocent soldiers.

“Mate” Alcide growled and spat out a mouthful of blood, Zeeb moved back, “is that blood” it looked poisoned or infected.

Alcide looked at the soldiers and Zeeb, he broke the second chain without stress, Zeeb felt the urge to run away but he was a Gamma he had to protect his people, he inserted the poisoned silver needle in Alcide’s neck.

“Mate” Alcide growled angrily and broke the two chains, the soldiers moved back in fear, Zeeb moved forward, “What do you want?” He tried to communicate with Alcide but he knew it was useless, Alcide was a monster that can't be controlled.

Alcide didn't know how to talk, he couldn't communicate so it was useless, he brought out another poisoned silver needle, and one of the soldiers stopped him “He'll go crazy at this extent and our lives will be in danger”.

Zeeb reasoned with the soldier and stopped, Alcide moved closer to them and they moved backwards, he suddenly started growing claws “Is he a werewolf at all?” one of the soldiers asked.

DEEP INSIDE THE FOREST:

Odwolf stopped walking and faced a big tree, “Show yourself, stop being scared, I'm a friend not a foe” he said gently, Rieka showed herself, she was using a black mask, she was holding a dagger “Who are you” she asked Odwolf.

“His father” he answered, Rieka understood him, “I don't want a mate” she said and turned to go.

“I understand, but can you at least see him?” he pleaded. “I'm late, I'm going home” Rieka stylishly declined but Odwolf stopped her, Rieka knew she wouldn't be able to win him if they engage in a fight, he was an Alpha.

“I'm not interested, I have a chosen mate already,” Rieka said.

“At least see what your mate looks like” he encouraged, he was trying to make them meet, if their wolves could connect.

“I've been mated” Rieka bashed Odwolf.

“I'm not sensing your territory” he mocked, Rieka sighed, “I'll meet him tomorrow but today…I need to go” she was finding it difficult to control Sophie.

“I'll wait for you here tonight” Odwolf turned and left, he didn't make anything difficult for Rieka. He hoped she wouldn't disappoint him.

“Sophie, we need to avoid him, he's a beast, we can stay without a mate” she consoled but Sophie was silent.

Rieka walked back to the road sluggishly, she entered her black Ferrari, she was depressed.

“How can my mate be a monster” she was scared, was she going to die of mate rejection? Bardulf rejected her and now her mate was a monster?

She was not sure what type of creature he was but she knew he was dangerous, she saw him break the chain and kill the soldiers without moving, his eyes were white.

His face was masked and she could not recognise him but she knew he was very ugly, he will be old too.

She cried bitterly, why will the moon goddess embarrass her? It would have been better if she didn't have a mate. It would have been better if she didn't find him.

Bardulf was better than her mate, Was she created for bad things? She cried her eyes out. She turned on the ignition.

She drove in like a maniac ignoring the stares she got from the guards, she went upstairs and sat on her bed “Let's give him a chance” Sophie pleaded.

“Stay out of it” Rieka bashed Sophie, she wanted to make the decisions without Sophie.

She got up to check up on Bardulf, “I'll leave the pack and never come back” she was determined to take that bold step.

She was about to turn the doorknob to Bardulf’s room but stopped “Ashina what did you do” Bardulf growled.

“I did it for us,” Ashina explained emotionally .

“I told you I had other plans, I'm the Alpha and I know how to deal with my people” said Bardulf, he gritted his teeth angrily.

“I didn't know she was going to kill him, I only released him to torture her, so she'll be scared and leave the pack for me” Ashina explained.

“But you know Elf is ill, what if he had killed her?” Bardulf hugged Ashina “I know you did this for us but it's not worth it” he tried to explain to her, Ashina moved away from him.

“No you love Rieka, you're just using me” she wept, Bardulf felt his heart crushing, his wolf groaning angrily “I have my plans and I'll execute it tonight trust me” he consoled his beloved.

Rieka held her tears, she must not cry, they didn't deserve her tears.

She turned and ran downstairs, she entered her car and drove off with no destination in mind.

“Mate” Sophie called out suddenly making Rieka stopped the car abruptly hitting her head on the steering

“Mate” Sophie growled. Rieka tried to control Sophie, she tried to calm Sophie down.

IN THE FOREST

Odwolf got back and met Alcide chained, he saw some wounded soldiers and turned to Zeeb “What happened to them?” he asked

Zeeb kept quiet, he was shivering, Odwolf turned to the soldiers “Take him home, I'll join you” he instructed, the terrified soldiers could not express their joy, they dragged Zeeb away, Odwolf moved closer to Alcide and noticed silver needles on his body.

“What happened” he asked him, Alcide looked at him and looked away, “How come you've found your mate and I've not gotten mine for over a thousand years now” he mocked himself.

Odwolf was lost in his own world, he was a victim of rejected mate, his mate rejected him and he almost died because of that and after the rejection he was given another chance to find another mate but it'd been more than a thousand years and he hadn't located his mate but this little boy located his mate.

Odwolf was impressed and smiled at him “You've done well” he smiled.

Alcide suddenly got up, “Mate” he growled. Odwolf got up and went out of the cave, he saw Rieka lurking around.

“I thought you wouldn't make it” Odwolf laughed, Rieka calmed down “I could not control my wolf” she admitted, her voice trembling.

“Why I'm I not feeling your wolf?” Odwolf asked. Rieka ignored him. “I don't know,” she answered sincerely but Odwolf looked at her suspiciously.

“You're not a werewolf” he brought out a dagger, Rieka moved back a bit “I'm a werewolf” Rieka shivered in fear.

“Who are you?” Odwolf roared ready to attack her.
