byTimothy Harrick, as early as the age of three, was obsessed with dragons. He knew they were inclined to savagely bite and grow to prodigious dimensions. He had never heard one, but suspected they were equipped with voices able to drown out the trumpeting charge of a raging elephant. He learned a lot about them from dreams he had at night, from stories read in comic books in which their ferocious appetites were mentioned, but especially from Saturday morning television programs designed to entertain the younger set. The shows had not especially troubled him, but did warn to keep his distance if one approached.
