Chapter 17When the doorman pushed open the massive door, Alex stepped back and waved his father through. Smiling at a now-familiar face, the uniformed attendant simply said, “He’s expecting you,” and motioned them toward the elevator. The elevator operator said nothing, as usual, but gave them a tiny silent grin and pushed the button for Homer’s floor.
