Chapter 10The next morning, Alex got a call from Homer Bencliffe, inviting him and Xander for cocktails that evening. The old man seemed quite excited, but was being cagey, only hinting that he’d found something else that might be of interest to “the boys.” Alex couldn’t bring himself to resent being called a boy, imagining how young he and Xander must look to someone in his late eighties. He decided to withhold their big news from his great-uncle until they met. Whatever Homer had found, it couldn’t be bigger than that. He texted Xander about their rendezvous with Homer and got a quick confirmation back from him.
