Part 1 Elementary I am in a room with full of faces, they are all smiling at me like they own me a lot. But all of a sudden, someone came inside and all the smiling faces that I just saw earlier it all because a nightmare. I was about to ask when, the old lady called me. I stand and say ‘I’m here.’ She walks toward me while holding a stick in her right hand. ‘Can you tell me, why you are here?’ I’m about to answer but, the person beside me hold my hands. That makes me distract on answering the old lady ‘s question. ‘Behold my friend, you’re so good.’ That was the words she told me and move outside the room. ‘I am here to be with you.’ I answered. The old lady smile and laugh saying, ‘I’m glad to know that young lady.’ She faced her back and step forward. ‘Everyone that young lady wants to be with me.’ And all of the sudden they all disappear. It was only me and the old lady in the room. ‘Young lady may I know your name?’ ‘I’m Yanni Byun Park.’ The old lady is looking at me like I have killed all the people who disappear earlier. ‘How did you come here?’ she asked. ‘The principal said that this will be my room.’ I answered politely. The face of the old lady is still the same. ‘You Should not be in this room young lady you go back to the room you first entered.’ The old lady said. I’m so confused what is going on? I follow what the old lady said and move out the room and go back to the principal’s office. When I enter the room it was so messy, it is not like earlier when I enter the room it was so clean. I called on the principal, but no one is answering I called again and again but the only sound that I can hear was a wind blowing the papers scattered in the room. I pick up the paper and the words are like crazy. That is the only word that was written in all scattered room. I move out side and return to the old lady’s room. I knock in the door before opening it. When I was about to open, someone grab may hands and covered my mouth. ‘Do not enter, you will regret if you do.’ I look up to the person who grab me and covered my mouth, it was the person who holds my hands in the room. She removed her hand on my mouth and grab me to the other room and I was surprise that all the people in the room earlier was present in this room. ‘What is going on?’ I ask the girl who grab me. ‘You need to go home, do not come back again.’ She said. After she said it, someone is calling my name. ‘Yanni’, ‘Yanni’ I’m looking around where it was coming and it was my mom who is calling me. I run to her and hug her. ‘Mom, why are you here?’ ‘Baby I should be the one asking why you’re here?’ ‘The principal told me to come here.’ ‘Baby, you need to listen to me, okay, you see that road, right?’ ‘Yes, mom.’ ‘Follow that and you will be home, okay,’ I was about to look back but mom shouted at me, saying ‘Never look back baby, mom will be fine, all you need is to follow that path and your dad is waiting for you.’ I follow what mom instructed me. It was a long way to home, but I just go on until I saw dad. But why he is so b****y? ‘Dad’ I tried to wake him up but he is not waking up. My eyes started to cry. I’m still calling on my father but he still not answering. ‘Hey, Yanni, Yanni, Yanni, wake up, wake up you’re having a nightmare again.’ Xam. I wake up, and I’m thankful it was just a dream. ‘Here drink, some water.’ Xam. ‘What was about this time?’ Xam asked. ‘It was mom and dad.’ And I start crying, Xam hug me saying ‘Everything will be fine.’ ‘Ccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnngggggg!’ I woke up in the morning with the smile on my face. ‘Yanni, come down now you need to eat before the bus will come.’ My mom. ‘I’m coming.’ I pulled my bag and run to kitchen. ‘Mom, can we go to the park after school?’ me asking my mom. ‘Sure, baby.’ I eat all my foods and brush my teeth. I’m 11 years old and I’m a grade 6. I am an athlete, and an honor student. My mom is a business woman and my dad is a detective. I am so lucky to have them in my life. ‘Baby, the bus is waiting, let’s go now.’ Mom. I walk toward mom and we live the house. Dad is not home he will be home tonight as he promised. I enter the bus and go to the back so that I can see my mom. I seat and look back, and I saw my mom waving at me. I wave also to her and seat back properly. After how many minutes we arrive at school. I wait for all my school mates to go out before I leave. I am always the one who leave last at the bus. I just don’t want to be as crowded with a lot of people. when I enter the gate, I saw my friend Xam. She is so cute with her ponytail hair. She is waiting for me again, yeah right! she can’t enter the room without me. I don’t know why? Do not think that they bully her she is a taekwondo, like me so no one dares to bully us. Also, bullying is not in our school we are a friendly people here. ‘Hey, how are you?’ I ask when I finally reached her. ‘I’m fine, did you know that we have a new teacher?’ Xam. ‘Really, is it a music teacher or a math teacher?’ me. ‘Math teacher, and he will be our new home teacher.’ Xam. ‘How did you know?’ me. ‘The teachers that pass by earlier is talking all about it.’ Xam. ‘How about our old teacher in math, did she resign?’ me. ‘No, she will be the home teacher of the other section.’ Xam. ‘It’s good to hear that, she is also nice.’ Me. ‘Yeah, right.’ Xam. We reach the room and almost are there. I look at my watch and 10 minutes before time. ‘Xam can you come with me?’ me. ‘where?’ Xam. ‘In the Comfort room.’ Me. ‘Sure.’ We go back to the room and our teacher is already there waiting for us. ‘Hello sir,’ Xam. And our teacher smile to us. ‘Okay, so good morning my student I am your new math teacher and I am going to be your home teacher too. I am Sky Lay Huang. Now, I want you to introduce yourself.’ I stand up and introduce myself. ‘I am Yanni Byun Park.’ And I seat down. ‘May I know your parents name?’ Sir. ‘Chanya Byun Park and Light Park. My mom is a business woman and my dad is a detective sir.’ Me. ‘Next’ sir. ’I am Xam Lei Byun. Yara Lei Byun and Zach Byun. They are both doctors.’ Xam. ‘Are you related to each other?’ Sir. ‘No, sir its just like that.’ Xam. ‘Next’ Sir. Until everyone finished introducing themselves. ‘Okay, thank you for your participation.’ Sir. After his discussion he gave us an activity. I answered it and wait until my classmates are done too. Xam is serious in every activity that she takes she is an top in our section and I am proud of her as her best friend. I am a top 3 or 4 in our class and I admit that, there are someone who is deserving than me. And I’m proud of myself that I can also compete. ‘Class, pass your paper now.’ Sir. After passing our paper, we move out to the room to have our break. The next would be math again. The schedule is Monday to Thursday math and Friday for the English music and science. Math is my favorite that is why I am here learning it. Math is a number but brain is a science. English is a word and not a number. A lot of people hate math, science and English but do they not know that without math, there is no science? Hays! Omg where did my mind get these words. After taking our break we go back to out room. Sir started to discuss the next lesson and it takes 2 hours and we are done with math for this day. We say goodbye to our teacher and move out to the school. My mom came to pick me up because we are going to park. Xam is going with us, mom ask her mother and she said yes. We are now in the car, ‘Mom, buy us some food we did not yet take our lunch.’ ‘Sure, Baby.’ Mom stop the car near the canteen and buy some food. She was the only one that move out on the car. When suddenly, a sound of a g*n echoed in the whole place. I look at the window, and mom is lying on the floor holding her stomach. I am about to open the door when, another bullet hit my mother’s chest. My mind is out of nowhere. I am just on the car with Xam and we are crying out of fear and anger. I look around where the man who shoot my mom, and there I saw. He smiled at me, and run into the woods. I move out to the car and run to my mom who is swimming on her own blood. ‘Mom, mom, don’t leave me please. Mom, mom, but she closed her eyes.’ After 10 minutes my father came. ‘Dad, mom is gone.’ ‘Baby, I’m sorry daddy is late.’ ‘Dad, the person who killed mom?’ me. ‘Baby, they are finding him right now.’ I did not know, what happened next. I am in a meeting when someone called me. ‘Uncle, this is Xam someone shoot Tita.’ ‘Where are you right now?’ ‘We are near the park.’ ‘Stay there, and I will come as soon as possible.’ I called chief and told him everything, and I leave. I know they will follow me. I came late. My wife is swimming on her own blood. My daughter is crying, trying to wake her mother. I rush to my daughter and hug her so tight. ‘I’m sorry baby, daddy is late.’ She is crying so hard and suddenly stopped. I hold her head, and shoot she pass out. I carry her and put it in the ambulance, and Xam is there too. ‘Take them to the hospital and do not leave them alone.’ I need to stay for how many minutes in this area to asked for more information. I was about to ask the waiter inside when he pull the trigger and leave. ‘I’m Sorry my daughter daddy will leave too.’ And I close my eyes. ‘Chief, Light was been killed too.’ The detective said. They run to see Light but it was late no pulse. They are reviving him as much as they can. They rush him in the hospital where his daughter was. They revive him, but he loss a lot of blood that leads to his death. I wake up but dad is not in my side. Chief is the only person in my room. ‘Where is dad?’ I asked. ‘Yanni, listen to me okay, your dad and your mom is no longer here.’ Chief. No words came out to my lips, only the tears are falling unto my eyes. Chief hug me, saying ‘everything will be fine. Believe me, we will find who have done this to your parents.’ Anger, revengeful mind, heart break, frustration and hatred this is what I am feeling right now. It took me three days to stay in the hospital before going home. But I do not know where I am going to. The doctor who helped me was tita Yara. Xam got home earlier than me. I waited who will come to take me home and Chief came. ‘Yanni, starting today you will stay in our house.’ He holds my hand and lead the way. When we were about to leave, someone called me. ‘Baby, Take care of yourself.’ It was mom’s voice. I turn around but no one is around. ‘Is something bothering you?’ Chief. ‘It’s just that I heard my mom’s voice.’ Me. We leave the hospital after paying the bill. The business that my mom left was named at me but how will I manage that when I’m only eleven years old. But thankfully I have chief, he will be the one to fined someone who will manage the business. I am here at dinning table staring at the food. ‘You need to eat you have to be strong your mom and dad will not be happy when they will look at you.’ Chief. I eat my food even I have no appetite to. After finishing my food, chief said that he and his son is the only one living this house. I ask where is his wife but he said she left this world like mom and dad. He guided me to my room. ‘this will be your room. The other side is my son’s room. My room is in the first floor if you need something you can just come there and ask me or ask my son.’ ‘Chief, who is your son?’ me. ‘Oh, I will introduce to you when he will be home.’ Chief. I just smile and he leave. I lay down on my bed and stare to nowhere. I didn’t realize that I had fallen asleep. I woke up when someone knock on the door. ‘Yes, come in.’ me. And I sit on the bed. The door open and it was chief. ‘Did I bother you?’ ‘No, chief, what’s the matter?’ me. ‘let’s go down my son is home and he wants to meet you.’ chief. ‘Okay.’ Me. We go down and meet his son. He is so familiar with just his back. ‘Son, this is Yanni.’ Chief. he turned around and look at me. ‘Sir?’ me. ‘Oh, sorry Yanni I did not come to see you at the hospital, but how are you feeling now?’ Sir. ‘Chief, he is my math teacher.’ Me. ‘Oh, really oh nice to hear that. When you see him dating a co-teacher report it to me.’ Chief. ‘Ahaha.’ Me. ‘Yes, Chief.’ me. ‘They are all married so don’t waste your time.’ Sir. ‘No, ma’am Cindy is single.’ Me. Sir look at me at said, ‘Yanni!’ chief laugh at sir. ‘Hey little girl, don’t mess with adult.’ Sir. ‘I’m not.’ Me. You have to pay this. And he holds my hands and tickle me. ‘Stop it, Stop It.’ Me. ‘I will stop if you will not do it again.’ Sir. ‘Yes, I will not do it again. Promise.’ Me. He loosen his hands and I just swing my right hand in his stomach that made him say, ‘Ouch.’ ‘Oh, Sorry sir, it’s not my intention to hurt you, sorry.’ Me. But, my mind is celebrating, at least I got a chance to punch this tall mall. He looked at me, with a fear eye. Before he can do anything else, I run to chief. and hide on his back. ‘Hey, she is a kid, you just let it go.’ Chief saying to his son. I hold chief hand and said, ‘Yeah, I’m just a kid. But he is more like a kid.’ Me. Chief laugh at what I said. While the tall man is pouting like they have got his candy in his mouth. ‘Don’t pout you’re not cute.’ Me. I was about to sit on the chair when he grabs my hands and start to tickle me again. ‘Hey, young man stopped that, she just came out to hospital.’ Chief. I am so happy that he stopped.
