Ethan felt a surge of gratitude as he watched the room come together in agreement. They were no longer alone in this fight.

Lily’s hands flew over the controls, her mind racing. She found a power switch and, with a desperate hope, flipped it off. The machine whirred down, the threatening hum dissipating.

The security team secured Dr. Malcovich, placing him in restraints. Captain Mason approached, his expression a mix of relief and respect. "You did it," he said, looking at Ethan and Lily. "You stopped him."

Ethan finally allowed himself to breathe, his body trembling with the adrenaline of the confrontation. Lily joined him, and they shared a moment of silent victory.
