ELLA'S POV The next couple of days rolled by in a blur. It was a stiff routine for me— sort of, waking up beside my mother, excusing the nurses while they examined her and administered her medications to her, cleaning her up and studying. At first, it was heart wrenching, seeing her so weak and helpless. As the second ticked, the pain didn't fade but it became bearable— if that counts as something. I guess I was starting to accept that time doesn't heal. Maybe it just makes the situation a little bearable (no pun intended) Liya was an angel, my goodness! She kept me updated with school work and my professors were surprisingly supportive. So, it didn't feel like I was missing out in school. Rio face-timed me every now and then.
