Chapter Fifteen
Aloha arrived just as the bank robbers began to fire at Elvis who was beside his pick up truck his back against the tire.
She heard the distinctive sound of gunfire so she hit the brakes as hard as she could and steered the tiny car into an alley across from the bank. A figure stepped from the shadows not ten feet in front of the car. She held her breath and her heart rate increased. She was going to run someone down.
Not if I can help it.
Yelling to the stranger to get out of the way she closed her eyes and used both feet to press down hard on the brake pedal. The little car fishtailed but came to a stop accompanied by the echo of screeching brakes off the alley’s high brick walls
