The Confusing thing called Love (completed)

Ashlee POV; ***Beep BEEP BEEP** ALARM GOING OFF **Look at the clock** “Sh**, I’m late for my first day” I said, about tripping over the clothes on my floor. I haven’t really fully unpacked since moving into my few apartment 3 weeks ago. When it comes to moving, I’m not the best at settling in a new place. I think it has to do with for the fact, 16 years I lived in the same house with my mom and dad, but when they passed away from a car accident, I had to move 1000 miles away to grandmother’s. It took me forever to get used to the fact that was my new home. I hurried up and got dressed, brushed my teeth and my hair. I can’t believe I over slept, hitting the snooze button, this was my first real job, I did things like baby sitting and dog walker before but this was a job in the real world. I know the one of the reasons I got it was because of my two best friends, Spencer and Liam. Their father owns his own company, and there was assistant job open for someone that will be working below him. I didn’t know who the person was, I haven’t met them yet. But I was nervous and excited at the same time. I was finally ready, and I walked out the door. Got in my car and was on my way. I actually made it just in time where I wasn’t late. “Good morning, Miss Johnson, Welcome aboard.” Said the lady at the from desk. “Hello, I don’t know really where I am going, I am supposed to see Mr. Asher when I got here. Can you point me in the direction of his office.” “Sure can, follow me.” She said. We walked towards his office, his assistant, greeted me and informed him I was here. “You may go in now” she said. I nervously walked into his office. I always like Mr. Asher, he was a nice, pleasant guy. Which is funny because his boys weren’t, well to others, not me. “Good morning Ashlee, you excited about your first day?” He asked. “Good morning, Mr.Asher. Yes and nervous.” I replied. “Call me Mark, Ashlee..I’m now your boss, no need to be like that anymore.” He laughed. “Ok, Mark. Thank you for this opportunity, I really appreciate it.” “No problem, I know your a good girl, and you work hard. I wish my boys were like you, but we both know that’s not the case.” He smiled at me. **there was a knock at the door** “He has arrived, Mr. Asher,” his assistant said. “Oh great send him in, thank you,” he replied. “Ready to meet him?” He asked. “ Yes..” I said nervous. “Warning he’s new to this town, and I haven’t even met him in person yet..just over zoom.” He said. As I laughed, there was a knock at the door, and my unbelievable shock, and a very familiar man walked through the door.. “Ashlee, this is..” as Mark started talking, but was interrupted by the man. “ASHLEE?” Said the man walking in. “I am sorry, do you guys already know each other?” Mark asked, looking back and forth at us. “Uhm, yes, this is my ex boyfriend Logan. Back where I moved from before moving here. “Ex? Sweetheart, you know I’m more then an ex.” Logan replied with a smirk on his face. “Well, this is a small world, I’ve never had to deal with this before. If you both are uncomfortable doing this, I can probably figure something out.” Mark said, still in shocked. “ I am cool with it as long as she is, sir.” Logan said, smiling at me. I looked at him, still confused how this even happened. Logan ended up graduating high school early, he was very smart, he wasn’t classified as a nerd because he was one of the most popular boys in school. He ended up doing college classes while still in high school, and then graduated and went to college, when did classes through the summer online so he could graduate sooner from college. We had an off and on since I moved here, long distance isn’t the healthiest. When I turned 17 I was able to fly to see when I got the chance to, I always saved my money up, to pay for the tickets, he would always pay for half. We broke last time , like 6 months ago and really wasn’t talked since, I really thought it was the end for us, because we have never went that long without talking. “I am 100% good with it.” I said, lying but I didn’t want Logan get to me. “Great, let me show you, your office Logan and your desk, Ashlee. Then give you both a tour.” He said. I rolled my eyes, was I walked behind both of them. What did I get myself into? He showed up around the company, and introduced us to some of the staff. Finally he showed Logan his office and showed me my desk. As I sat at my desk, I’m not gonna lie, I did day dream a lot, but they did have this lady show me how the computer system works and everything. Same with Logan but the guy was working with him all day. He was actually complete professional around me, and was not bring anything up about our past. I was 100 percent grateful. I went to the little kitchen they had, well it was a breakroom but it was kind of small. I walked in to get some coffee, and I over hear two girls talking about the “new guy.” “Did you see the new guy that took over for Anderson?” Girl 1 asked. “YES, total hottie, I wouldn’t mind jumping on that one of these times.” Girl two asked. “Agreed, I wonder if he’s single..” girl 1 asked. I chuckled to myself as I walked out. I sat back at my desk, answering the phone, taking messages, and getting some work done. I seen Logan come out of his office. “Ashlee, can you get some copies of the papers,” he asked me. I smiled at him, and nodded. “So did you hear what people are staying about you?” I asked him. “Oh gosh, no..” he said nervously. “That you are a hottie..” I said to him. “Well about that, not surprising. It’s like it college all over again. You made it sound like something bad.” He replied. “Oh dear,” I said rolling my eyes, “how many copies do you want of each?” I asked. “Just 1 each thanks.” He said smiling at me, then winked at me. As the day went on, we barley talked much more he had meetings, and he was doing good at his job. Which isn’t surprising, he’s always been a hard working. He gets that from his mom. It was the end of the way and I was just ready to go home, it was a good day. I was just exhausted, and ready for Netflix and chill..well by myself.
