Chapter 11

And I leave everything behind and begin a new journey.

Not to be too drastic, but it feels like it.

I didn't even tell him bye. He must be livid with me. I turned my phone off as soon as I reached Zanedom.

Zanedom pack. The alpha is Jack Zane. This pack is as traditional as it gets. Our pack Adamlands moved with technology, but this one is as traditional as it gets.

But my Aunt was happy with her mate. Uncle John was a really sweet guy. They never had children, but that didn't weaken their bond a bit.

I ask my father to leave as soon as he drops me off. He met my aunt and got on with the journey. I didn't want anyone to know I was in Zanedom so I asked him to keep it a secret.

The voice was mocking me.

" Sweetie, have the pancake with this honey. This one your uncle bought with his packmates. He was all in the hunting mood for the sweetest tasting honey. He got about 100 stinks. If he wasn't a werewolf he would have died and I am not even kidding. " Even when my aunt is complaining about Uncle John I could hear the love in her voice.

Why did you leave Lucas?

I immediately stop the voice from getting inside my head.

I try to have the sweetest honey but it was all dull. I miss them. All of them. Even Ashley.

I asked my aunt to roam around a bit. My father said he would talk to the school. I was smart. I will continue my studies online and will have to go to school to give my final exam.

I really hope Ashley will call me back soon.

The final exam is in two months. Just after Ashley's birthday. It was going to be chaos.

The pack was deep inside the jungle. Just so peaceful. I could hear the morning practice of the soldiers. I could hear the wolves run around. The morning breeze felt peaceful even when my heart was full of chaos.

It was Lucus's birthday and, for the first time, I wasn't there to celebrate it with him.

I feel awful. My heart aches.

The voice inside my head laughs.

" Stop." I put my hands in my ears so I could block the voice, but how could I when it was all inside my head?

Still, the voice stopped. These voices started getting worse since the time Lucus got his wolf.

I didn't know what the hell was going on.

I trip onto the roots of the forest's trees . Just when I am about to face plant into the forest floor. A hand grabs me.

" Careful. We need to be careful walking down this lane. " comes a rough deep voice.

I look at him. His hands in me burns. My tummy rolls at his touch. So I took my hands out as if it was fire.

He puts his hands up as if in surrender. He is West Zane. The son of the alpha. I have seen him when we came once to celebrate Christmas here with our family.

He inhales my scent. Which was creepy as f**k.

" Did you just sniff me? " I ask him.

" You haven't gained your wolf, right? We werewolves sniff everything and everyone." He laughs as if my statement was hilarious.

I didn't like him a bit. He is a handsome boy not gonna lie. But my Lucas was far more handsome than him.

Yours??

The voice mocks me again.

" Hey where did you go? What's your name? " he asks.

" Vanessa. I am the daughter of Arthur Steinfeld. " I reply.

" Oh the Steinfelds. You came to visit your aunt, right? " he seems noisy.

" None of your business. " I reply and try to walk away from him.

" I am the alpha of this pack. And I ask anyone and everyone in this pack. You are on my land. So don't f*****g turn your back on me ever again." He growls. His wolf was close to his skin.

" You are not my alpha. And you aren't the alpha of this pack yet. I respond to my alpha. I will respect the alpha and answer to only him because he was generous enough to let me stay with her. You are none of my business and you stay away from my business. " I reply harshly and move the hell away from him as fast as I could.

I just stroll around. It was a good morning but having having a heavy heart and the alpha's son messing with me had ruined my morning.

I was tempted to get on my pager. I wished lucus sharp at twelve am as I always have and I always will. I really wanted to know his reply but I couldn't. I won't turn on my phone and pager until Ashley calls me back. I don't know how long the temptation will take me on those, but until I can, I won't.

I ordered custom-made tshirts for Lucas. In the t-shirt I made them write, look who finally got their wolf. And lots of other others with quotes I know he would love.

I wanted to give him those myself but I couldn't so I did call the delivery guy to deliver those gifts to his house.

He is so so mad.

He is livid with you, Vanessa.

Don't leave him. Go back. Go back. Before he comes to you.

Go back to him before you break what hasn't even been started.

VANESSA.

" STOP. PLEASE STOP." I scream. The voice was so painful. That the tears that won't stop.

" Honey what's wrong? "came a voice behind me.

I scream because it scares the hell out of me. The voice sounded scary as f**k.

I turn behind and see an old lady. She had wrinkles all over her face.

" Uhh. Nothing. " I mumbles just so embarrassed.

" You were just shouting but no one's here. " Her black soulful eyes seemed like she knew what was going on inside my head.

" Nothing at all. I was just exploring. You may have heard it wrong." I am praying hard that she doesn't know my bluff.

" Listen to the voice that guides you. The voice inside you is strong. It never lie. It just wants an outlet. You have suppression it too much. Let it out before the voice. The magic consumes you. Make the bond before it destroys you. " She whispers. Her eyes seem rolling back into the skull. The voice so scary it creates gooseflesh all over my body.

" What? " I ask her.

" What what?" she answers me in a normal voice.

" what was all that you said just now? " I ask her again.

" I am an old lady. I don't know what I ate today? How come I know what I said to you? You are Mary's niece aren't you? She was just searching for you. Go child. " she says that and just leaves. I hear a crunch and turn back but nothing was there.

I turn front to see the old lady but she had already disappeared.
