The light from the artificial sun overhead was dimming. Nick noticed this as he watched Rylick, Vibeke, and the Trinhlin move down the hill through the fuzzy fan tree forest, following a narrow path between the trees. His head spun with everything that they had revealed. The Trinhlin, the beings he had referred to as Cthulhu’s little cousins, were in fact wizards of genetic engineering, who had created entirely new intelligent species. They had made beings that could fly in space and warp between the planets. They didn’t look cute or cuddly, and their technology was potentially terrifying.
