Dustin bent over and grabbed Tana by the arm dragging her up to her feet, “Get up. What are you doing?”
Tana wiped her tears, “I… I am just so grateful. Thank you, Amelia.”
Dustin turned to glare at Amelia, “Tana, go wait for me in the car. I will be out shortly.”
Tana sniffed and walked out without another word. She got what she came for.
Dustin never looked away from Amelia and she returned his glare with a cold look of her own. The moment the parlor door closed Dustin spoke, “What the hell was that? Did you stoop so low as to curse my sister?”
Amelia scoffed, “What the f*ck are you talking about, what curse? You come barging into my home with your sister saying I cursed her. Then she makes this big show on my floor like some possessed woman. If you want to lynch someone, I suggest you start with your family. Get out of my house.”
Dustin watched her cooly. She didn’t act like she was lying, but then again who would admit to evil-doing?
He regarded her with disdain, “You are not fit to be a mother. Your language is uncouth and you are vicious. The father should step in and take custody of your children before you ruin them.”
Dustin felt a tinge of joy as he saw the color drain from Amelia’s face. However, that joy was short-lived as her face morphed into that of the devil. His feet were rooted in place as she stomped up to him, each step rattling his bones.
Amelia hissed like a viper, “Over. His. Dead. Body. I am careful with my language and actions in front of my children and you can bet on your life that I will kill anyone who tries to steal MY children from me. Come the armies of heaven or hell they will find no stronger force to contend against than a mother’s love for her children.”
Dustin could scarcely breathe, her enrapturing scent enveloped him. His fingers ached to touch her soft skin, her lips looked soft and plump. His eyes softened, “Come back to me, Amelia,” he whispered.
Amelia’s eyes widened at the sudden proposal. She had dreamt of those words six years ago but as the days passed into weeks and those dragged into months, her heart hardened.
She chuckled then threw her head back into a hearty long laugh. Dustin watched her silently.
She suddenly stopped and fixed him a chilling look, “You come marching into my house calling me a witch, threaten my children, then end with wanting me back? That’s so funny. I didn’t know you Rogers were all insane. Why would you want a woman who may know witchcraft around you? Oh wait, did you think I really possess some sort of dark magic that you can use against your competitors?”
She laughed again but this time it was mocking, “Get out of my house, Mr. Roger. I am sure you remember your way out. If you ever come back again, I will have you arrested for trespassing.”
She walked out of the room without looking back. Dustin stared at her back. He didn’t know what came over him to have suggested such a thing. Maybe he just wanted the hot s*x they had six years ago. Having two children around them wouldn’t be bad either, as long as they were his. But to be shut down like this was humiliating.
He collected his senses and stormed out of the villa. Getting in his car, he slammed the door and buckled himself in. Tana was smiling as she rubbed her belly, unaware of her brother’s mental state.
Dustin stared at the road and revved his car engine. If she wanted to play hard to get, he was willing to reciprocate. No one says “No” to Dustin Roger. He didn’t just want the children, he wanted Amelia groveling for his love like the b***h she’s always been. He imagined her on her knees before him, pawing at the front of his pants ever eager to please. His pants grew tighter and his brows furrowed. Just wait Amelia, soon you will be at my mercy once again.

Amelia watched Dustin’s car take off in a plume of dust from the window. She hurried upstairs calling as she went, “Mary!! DS!!”
Mary hurried out from the kitchen with a broom in hand, “Amelia! What’s wrong dear?! Is the Roger boy still here?”
Amelia would have laughed if the situation wasn’t so dire, “Mary, pack up. We are leaving today.”
They both headed up the stairs to see DS carrying two giggling kids in his arms like sacks of potatoes, “Jie, you called me?”
“Children come down, we need to pack and go home today. I am so sorry. Mommy has some super duper important thing she forgot about and we have to go. Can you please help mommy pack?”
The children dutifully patted DS’s hand as he let them down and they went to the room to pack.
DS looked at Amelia, worry evident in his gaze, “Noona, what’s wrong? Is there anything I can help with?”
Amelia’s eyes were red and watery as if she was about to burst. She forced out a whisper, “I think he knows the kids are his. We have to go before he tries to take custody.”
DS looked confused, “Who… wait, is this something to do with Mr. Roger from yesterday? Now that I think about it, Peter looks like him… is he the father?”
Amelia nodded grimly.
DS was rooted on the spot, “What have I done? I pushed my sister into the tiger’s den. I shouldn’t have begged you to come with me. I should have been a man and gone myself…”
He stopped and hurried into his room, “I’ll be down in 10 minutes! Let’s go!!”
The rest of the morning passed in a blur. Godfrey packed a few quick sandwiches and all the leftover pastries and cookies for their trip home. Amelia talked to Stephen to iron out what needed to be done for the property sale.
Stephen assured her, “Don’t worry, Miss. Amelia. I will ensure that the sale goes through without a hitch. I will send all correspondence to your email.”
Amelia took both his hands in hers and shook them, “Thank you, Stephen. Please take care of yourself.”
She turned to the rest of the staff and smiled apologetically, “I am sorry but I have to go. I think Dustin has somehow gotten wind that the children are his and I don’t want him to come back to confirm. Thank you all for your hospitality and please stay in contact. Goodbye.”
They piled into the car and took off. Amelia hoped that this was the end of having to deal with Dustin, that crazy bastard. She had put up a lot of bravado in the parlor but at the end of the day, he had the money and power to destroy her insignificant world.
She sighed in frustration. What did she do to deserve all this heartache?
