I started the walk to Mika’s shop to let her know that I’d volunteered it for the reception after the memorial. I knew she wouldn’t mind, mostly because she cared about Celeste, too, but also because foot traffic in her store was good for business.
But first, I needed to take care of finding a lawyer for Trevor, and I knew just who to call. Saul answered immediately, and he knew just the person to recommend. “I’ll take care of the cost, too,” he said. “Tell Trevor not to worry.”
“Thank you, Saul,” I said before giving him Trevor’s number and telling him about the memorial the next day.
“I’ll be there, and I’ll ask some of the guys to come, too. Just in case the Davenports make a scene.” He hung up before I could thank him again.
