Jason was surprised when Olivia didn't pull his hand from her shoulders. he still hadn't gotten over the way her face fell when he told her he was a mechanic. at least he would be comfortable in a leather posh chair in the cafe when she will fire him with the questions he was sure she had carefully drafted. she must be one of those women who believe in men with white collar jobs. a man without a suit, a car- it doesn't matter if it was an official car or not- a stressful day and a good salary didn't measure up. he was starting to like her inspite if her shallow mindedness. he believed there was more to her.there has to be something beneath all of her indifference and he was determined to find it. they took their seats. he glanced at her. her lips were parted again, and this single act tormented him. he had balled his fist while walking towards her out side her house. he had been eager to embrace her and inhale her scent.she had a body of a model and the way she swayed made his blood boil. he tapped his feet as a new surge of arousal swept through him. a waitress showed up at that moment to take their order. he wasn't interested in coffee or seeing a movie. all he wanted was to unravel the mystery in front of him which was her. he stole glances at her when she wasn't looking. he sat back watching as she ate her cake and she smiled. she couldn't get over the way he was stealing glances at her while pretending not to. he sure isn't smart but he sure is handsome. she put a piece of the cake she had ordered earlier into her mouth and she closed her eyes and moarned when the sweet flavour settled on her tongue. "impressive" he said. she was uncomfortable, sitting there watching her . she didn't know what she was thinking about, but from the smoky looks he was wearing she could tell what he was feeling. she felt the same way but she hoped her face isn't as revealing as his.she lifted the her cup of coffee and sip hopping the warmth will settle her insides." so tell me, Jason, why mechanic?" she asked, voicing the question that has been on her mind ever since he picked her up. she saw something close to fear to his face. her reaction to what he was going to say is important to him. she shifted in his chair and subjected her to a prolonged stare. " it's what I've always wanted to do" he said. " as a child, I've dreamed of earning a living with my bare hands through technology."talk about dreams"! "c'mon". she dropped her tea spoon." you must have had other plans, an alternative profession or something". sure, I wanted to be a fashion designer". you've got to be kidding me, seriously? she almost yelped. what he did was bad enough now he was trying to get cute with it. "so, tell me, what stopped you from furthering your education? I mean you did went to high school right?" " yes I did, I did went to_" " you know you still have a chance to get into college and get a degree" he smiled. " why" he changed " why not?" " to meet you to your standards? so I can fit in?" " well, you need to fit in somewhere because everyone is expecting something From you. the society expect a particular standard from you" " I see, so everyone who has a degree is accepted in the society?" they looked away. he appeared to have lost appetite in his sandwich , so he drank the rest of his coffee. he picked up a copy of the cinema pamphlet and browsed through it. the nerve he had, leaving her to eat in silence. she reached for her phone on the table but he took it, not looking at her. she felt an odd frission when their knees touched. she looked away smiling. " can I have my phone? she asked. " why? am I boring you?" he was smiling and then he turned to her. I don't want you reaching for your phone all the time, it's distracting"! " said the man read" " ok, here" he passed her phone to her. " you have to promise not to keep reaching for it though" she nodded. come, let's go it's almost noon. what movie did you pick? " what would you like to see? " anyone you pick is fine by me, really" "scary movie it then" he had the tickets so he went in first, he walked all the way to the back. there where not many audience. fewer than 50 in all. he put their phones on the seat and lowered the seat on his left for her. it was a scary but hilarious movie. when they laughed hard, their shoulders touched. at some point she found herself resting her head on his shoulder while he held her in a tight hug.as if afraid she will disappear. every time she moved he would pull her even closer to him.she tried to concentrate, tried to look pass his warm arms as he grazed her breast as he tried to reach out for their popcorn. " are you ok?" he wispered. his breath making her earlobe to tingle. she looked up to answer him and discovered that his lips were to close to pass without tasting. a thousand and one bells rang in her head as he turned towards her and she did the same, so that they were facing one another when her lips touched his. it was like falling in to an electrified pit. he held her chin, angled his head and tasted more of her. she clenched her hand into fists struggling not no wrap them around his neck. the kiss moved from urgent to soft until their lips broke apart. he placed a small peck on her nose before they turned their attention back to the movie. they resumed position, her head on his shoulder, his arms still holding her. his hand found hers, and, when he squeezed it tightly, she squeezed back. over lunch, she avoided his eyes, keeping it low on her plate. she tried to pretend the kiss in the cinema didn't happen., yet all she could think of was how she almost crawled into his lap. how he had held her, how she had almost wrapped her entire life around him.bhow desperate was she getting?. the disgraceful thing is that she didn't even regret any of it. she had loved that rhythm in which lips had joined and moved. it was... she couldn't even find the words. she shut her eyes as her thoughts begin to swirl in her head. this was going to be so hard to end, she realized. how could she allow someone with so low ambition to crawl into her skin? she had been watching him and she knew he was been looking at her too. twice had she cought him and he was looking at her strangely. after lunch, they returned to the cinema to see another movie. this time she assumed a more upright stance, her head balance properly on her neck instead of on his shoulder. he looked straight ahead too, stepping out most of the time to receive a phone call. it was a blessing when the credit began to roll. they walked quietly to the parking lot and neither of them said a word through out the trip. they were almost home when he broke the silence. "are you ok?" she nodded this time around, remembering what had happened the last time he asked that question. she didn't like how sour things had gotten between them even though she knew this would be the ideal way to end this ...... what ever it was.
