Eva's POV "What the hell are you doing here?" Quince growled as Linos continued to stroll forwards, unbothered. "I just came to say hello", Linos stated with a small smile on his face. He turned to look at me and sent me a wink. What was that supposed to mean? "I have to say, Quince", Linos put an arm round my shoulder and it felt weird, "This girl right here is really something". I attempted to shrug of Linos's hand from on he, but failed. He leant down and whispered in my ear, "Nice to see you again". "What?" I asked, dumbfounded. Was Linos oblivious to Quince's anger? "Get of her!" Quince roared before he pulled me away from Linos and to his chest. I watched as Quince sent Linos a death glare. "Okay, okay", Linos put his hands up in surrender, "No need to be so rough. Calm down." "Don't you dare tell me to calm down! After what your father did to my family, I have every right to tear you bit to bit", this side of Quince was one I not yet seen. It was scary, yet I was intrigued. What had Linos's dad do to Quinces family? I thought Linos had told me that it was just a little feud between their fathers. But with the way Quince was acting, I'd say it was more than just that. Linos's eyes darkened as he stared at his cousin. "Is that why you want the snail? To destroy me and my dad? Your own cousin and uncle?" he enquired and Quince let go of me only to hold Linos by the collar. "You and your father are nothing to me! You here me! Get out of here before I beat you to a pulp!" Quince seethed out dangerously. I went up to the two and placed a hand on Quince's shoulder. He turned around to look at me but he still held Linos firmly and his eyes still boiled with anger. "Quince, let's go. We have to pick up Azzy", as much as I'd like to ask about their family drama, it wasn't the time. Not now, at least. "You're lucky", Quince told Linos before he released him and pulled me inside the car where we sped of to Azzy's school. "I don't think it's safe to stay around him", Quince told me and I looked at him as we waited outside Azzy's school for her to be dismissed. "He said the same thing about you", I responded and watched as he looked at me with a confused expression on his face. "What?" he asked. "Well, not in those exact same words", this was a good opportunity to find out what I wanted to know all this time. "He said you run a gang". Quince froze as I said that and it was quite obvious what the answer was. He averted his gaze and stared at the children who came running out the school gate and to their awaiting parents. "So I'll take that as a, yes?" I enquired as I spotted my little sister. She ran towards us where we were not far away from the school gate. "Eva! Quince!" Azzy exclaimed excitedly, "I got an A in reading!" She waved the paper about in our faces. I picked her up and kissed her cheeks. "I am so proud of you", I gushed and set her down. I turned to head into the car when Quince held me back by my arm. I turned around to see that his gaze was still averted. "Can we talk about this later?" he enquired. "Sure", I replied and pulled away my arm from his grip and headed inside the car with Azzy in tow. ****************************** "More popcorn!" Azzy screeched as the microwave beeped for the twelfth time tonight. "Are you sure! You ate so much already, you'll be pooping out popcorn cornels", I told her. "That isn't true!" she defended, "I'll be pooping out popcorn! I didn't eat any cornels Eva!" I shook my head at her and reluctantly gave her the fresh batch of popcorn from the microwave. She immediately started stuffing her face with popcorn and the doorbell rang. "Fu foor", she tried saying through her full mouth. "I'll go get it! Don't you dare eat all that! Save some for me!" I warned and rushed to the front door. I opened the door and in front me stood Quince. "Hi", he greeted. "Hey, come on in", I stated before I turned to return to the kitchen where I left Azzy with all my popcorn. "Actually", I turned around to see he didn't make any move to follow me, "We need to talk". "Go on then", I prompted before he handed me some papers. I looked at them and was shocked to see the adoption papers. "I thought she said they wouldn't be out till tomorrow..." "Yes, but that's not the point", Quince cut me off, "I already signed them, it's just you left. I can't stay here any longer." "Why? Is something wrong?" I asked concerned. "No... yes... it's complicated", he heaved in a sigh, "It's about the gang. Being the leader, I need to be back in England to run it". "So you're leaving?" I enquired. I was now beginning to get to know him, to like him, and he's going already. "Yes, and I need the snail" so he's leaving just like that and he wants the snail? Has he been playing me all this while?! Just so he can get the snail? "What? I can't give that to you Quince! I don't even know what you want to do with it!" I exclaimed furiously. "That's something I can't tell you Eva", he told me sadly. "Why! What's so confidential that you can't tell me!" I was furious, he played me like an i***t and I believed him. How was I so stupid?! "Bye Eva", he stated before he all but walked off...
