Unexpected Forever

Chapter 4: The Meet

It's 6pm in the evening, Maya sat in front of her mirror, with her lipstick container in her left hand and the stick on her right hand, she rubbed it from the left to the right side of her lips and the dabbed for the lip gloss to rhyme well. She took her contour stick and brush on her both cheeks, she was looking stunning and beautiful in her maroon color gown with glitters all over it. Her hair were in waves, short but beautiful. She got up from her chair, pushed it back inside and then stared at herself in the mirror for long before picking up her maroon back with a long hand from the bed, hung it on her left shoulder turn around to have a good look of the back side of her dress, it has ropes tight like the letter X, she smiled. She moved out of her house and stood by the road, a taxi stopped in front of her, she opened the back door and entered in, the car drove off.

She was going to Lisa's mother 50th birthday party, relatives of Lisa were also going to be in attendance, Lisa had invited her a day after their club night. It was a Sunday evening and since she wasn't going on any date and it was an opportunity for her to see Lisa's parent again after a long time, she honoured it. Lisa's mother would be surprised to see her because Lisa told Maya that she didn't tell her mum she was inviting her friends for the party. Lisa is from a wealthy home, her father is a renowned CEO of one of the biggest and largest company in their country, he held a high prominence. Him and his wife, Melissa had only two children, Lisa and her brother, Darshen. They went to one of the biggest and renowable university in their country. Since her father was a wealthy billionaire, a lot of wealthy people were going to be in attendance, ranging from politicians, to military men, CEO and billionaires like her father. There were lots of drinks and foods at the party, it was lit. The party was held at the mansion of the celebrant, her husband got it for her as her 50th birthday gift, the house is spacious with hallways and halls, it looked like a castle, light all around making it noticeable even from a far distance.

Soon Maya got to the house, she got down from the car and moved majestically like a princess into the building, people were all around, some were greeting each other, waiter and waitress moved with tray of drinks and wines round the hall, serving the guests. The waitress were in black skirt and white shirt with a black bow on the colar of the shirt, they look near and organized, the waiters were on black trousers with a black cover shoe. The male guests were in suits, majority wore black suit while others went with maroon suits, the color code for the day was maroon or black. As she walked down the hall, looking for somewhere comfortable she could stand while observing the people a waitress walked up to her with a tray of red wine, she picked a glass and the waitress left.

“Thank you” she said and the waitress bowed and moved to the set of young men beside her.

She finally found a warn corner to stand but fortunately for her there was a seat so she sat down there, crossed her leg and took a sip of her wine. She looked around, observing everything that was going on in the hall like a detective on a mission. While she was still sitting and her eyes wovering around the hall, she spotted Lisa, she was with a guy, she has noy seen her since she got there so she saw it as an opportunity to let her know she had arrived the party, she stood up and cat walked to the direction of Lisa.

“Hi Lisa” she greeted.

“Maya! You made it!” She screamed and hugged her.

“I told you I was going to show up girl”

“And you did, that's why I love you” she pecked her on her left cheek.

“Maya, meet Chris my friend. Chris, Maya my friend”

“Hi Maya, I’m Chris Orton” he stretched out his hand and bow his head like a gentle prince.

“Hi Chris, I’m Maya Davis. Nice meeting you” she placed her right hand on his palm and he kissed it.

“So, Lisa, is Maya one of your regular friends?” He asked.

“No, Maya here is my childhood friend, she is like a sister I never had. Wait a minute, have you met Angela?” Lisa responded.

“Who is Angela” He asked.

“My childhood friend too, Maya and Lisa are like sisters to me, so loving and caring friend”

“Oooh, you must be lucky to have them as friends.

Lucky you”.

“Maya, have you seen Angela since you got here? Lisa asked Maya.

“No, how about you?” Maya responded.

“I haven't seen her too, I hope she was able to make it, oh my God” Lisa panicked.

“Relax girl, she might be around, probably looking for us the way I was searching the hall for you too” Maya consoled her.

“My mum would be surprised to see you two. Am so happy” Lisa said.

“I know right. I would be glad to see her too, it's been years” Maya replied.

While the two were talking and chatting, Chris was staring at Maya lustfully. She was so beautiful and he had never seen such beauty before.

“There she is Lisa, that's Angela!” Maya whispered in Lisa's ear and with joy, Lisa screamed Angela's name.

“Angela!” Angela heard at once, only people who were close to Maya heard her because Angela wasn't too far away from them, she backed them. When Angela turned and saw them, she ran to their direction.

“Lisa!”

“Girl, where you been since?” Maya asked as she hugged her and gave her a peck on her left cheek.

“I been looking around for you two girl. Maya girl, you look sexy, oooh!” Angela complimented Maya.

“Yea, so sexy!” Chris added too.

Maya chuckled, now she became shy.

“Who is he Lisa?” Angela asked Lisa.

“Chris, my friend Angela. Angela, meet Chris, my friend”

“Hi, I’m Chris Orton, nice meeting you”

“The pleasure is mine handsome, I’m Angela Kelvin” She offered her hand to him, he gave her a handshake.

“So girls, my mum. Let's go see her, she would be so happy to see you girls” Lisa said after the greetings between Angela and Chris.

“Yes I know. I can't wait to see her, can we get going girls” Angela replied happily.

“Yes yes yes. Remember girls it's a surprise”

“ Ok” Angela and Maya chorused.

“Can I come with you girls as well?” Chris asked jokingly.

“No Chris, it's for us alone, have a nice time, we would be back soon” Lisa said and the trio left, leaving Chris behind.

He continuously looked at Maya as they walk through the guest, he took a sip of his wine, bite the left side of his lip, smiled and said:

“I like her and I want her”.
