Unexpected Forever

Chapter 3: Reunion

It was a Saturday morning, she laid in her bed staring at the ceiling light, recollecting the event at the office after the lunch with her boss and the incident. She got to office the next day with fear, she wasn't at ease, anytime her telephone rang her heart almost pumped out of her mouth. She avoided any encounter with her boss through out that day, few hours to when they were supposed to close for the day, she received a call from her boss to meet him in his office, her heart beat faster, her legs were shaking and she was sweating. He might fire her, she thought. But finally she got to his office door and was very scared to knock but he could see her from the CCTV opposite his office so her ordered her in. Her voice was shaking and she was sweating profusely.

“Ms. Maya” he called

Her head was facing down and he’s was up. His had his regular boss look with confidence and no-nonsence face was on her.

“Yes boss” she replied

“Whatever happened at that restaurant should remain between us, if I hear about it from any of the staffs in my office, you're going to loose your job and not just that, you will loose everything you have worked for in live. Is that clear? My reputation must not be tainted because of you, I have worked so much to be here and you won't ruin it”.

“But boss you kissed me first. I wouldn't have done that intentionally”. She replied with a confidence she didn't know where or how it came.

“I have spoken, get out of my office

“Yes boss” she replied and left his office.

She ran to her office immediately, she shut the door when she got in, ran and immediately sat on her chair.

“What have I done? What have you done Maya? OMG, I have messed up, gosh! How could I talk back at him? No no no! Maya no!”

She bowed her head down and grabbed her hair with pain because she was scared.

“Wait a minute” she raised her head up, wipes her tears with the back of her right hand.

“How was I able to talk back at him? I have never done such before, the courage to talk back to him, I never had such courage, wow, this is anazing”. She smiled then remembered that she might loose her job because she talksd back at him, shw began to cry again.

She laughed out so loud when she remembered that part. She got up from the bed stretched herself and fell back on bed, she laughed again, she was happy too, she was not sacked. As she lay on bes, she kicked her leg in the air playfully while her face was facing the bed, her phone rang, it was Angela.

“Hi babes” Angela screamed from the other end of the phone.

“Hi Angela, how are you doing”

“Am good. How about you”

“Am good babes”.

“Guess”

“What?”

“Babes, just guess”

“You got promoted at work”

“No. Guess again”

“You got a new boyfriend. Yes yes, I knew it, yes you got a new boyfriend, when would you introduce him to us? Am so happy for you girl” Maya responded with happiness and it made Angela laughed so hard.

“Why you laughing Angel? I know am right that's why you laughing so hard”

“You're wrong.” She laughed more

“It's far from that babe. Ok an going to tell you, we are in town. I and Lisa”

“You don't mean it babe!”

“Oh my God!” Maya jumped up from the bed happily, she jumped around her room screaming and laughing so hard.

“Girl, I miss you both. Oh my God am so happy babe, when are we seeing baby girl, I missed you so much! How about Lisa? Common girl tell ne when we would see”. Maya said happily.

“We would see tonight at our favorite club. And Lisa is doing great, she went home to see her family, it's been years. And my mum sends her greeting to you. And I miss you more girl! Just get ready tonight is going to be lit for us, we gonna talk and spill the tea”. Angela laughed.

“My regarss to your mum too. Girl, you girls gonna spend the night in my house so we could have more fun when we get back from the club. Wow! Girl!”

“That's no problem babe,just get ready, I would come pick you up by 9pm. Dress beautiful, elegant and sexy too. You know we gonna shut down the club today babe. Dress sexy babe”

“Definitely, am never going to fail at that.”

“You never fail at that I know. We gonna club tonight” Angela shouted

“Yes girl” they both laughed.

It's 8:50pm in the night, Maya was standing in front of her house waiting for Lisa and Angela to come pick her up, soon they arrived her house, it's been years since they last met so they were earger, happy and ready to meet each other. A black Corolla passed her and then came back, the person at the driver's seat whined the glass down it was Angela. Maya couldn't hold her happiness and started shouting, Lisa already got down from the passenger siand ran immediately to hug Maya.

“Oh my God! My baby! Ahhhhhhhh” Lisa shouted

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh” Maya shouted too.

“Oh my girl you look hot! Ahhhhhhh” Angela screamed too when she got down from car.

Angela spinned 360 for Maya to see her and Maya laughed hard.

They got to the club, ordered some shots which they took 3 shots each and they laughed, three guys walked up to where they were dancing, and picked each one of them for a dance. Maya wasn't comfortable with the guy who was dancing with her so she went back their seat and he went to another girl. As she was sitting there, a young handsome man came to where she was sitting.

“Hi pretty lady”

“Hi” Maya respond not looking at his face.

“Would you like to dance with me?” Them she raised her face up and saw him, she smiled, he was too charming for her to resist so she agreed.

“Yes handsome” she smirked.

“Common” he helped her up from the chair.

They danced and lauged when she suddenly noticed her friends were not in the club again, she was worried hence she couldn't focus on the him and had to leave. She went outside the club hoping to see them but she didn't, he ran after her.

“What's the issue my lady?” He asked curious because she looked worried.

“Nothing!” She replied.

“You look worried”.

“Young man I said am fine” she yelled at him. She tried calling their phones but it's wasn't connecting, she became more worried.

“Oh my God! I hope they're fine wherever they are”. He stood behind her while she paced from one end to the other. He knew she came with some friends and he say them when they left so he asked her.

“Your friends?”

“Yes, yes”.

“They left”

“What! Wait! how do you even know my friends?”

“I saw when you girls came in, I was watching you since you came in here”

“Who were they with?” As she said the last word her phone rang, it was Lisa.

“ Girl! Why did you leave without informing me”

“Am sorry girl, we got a lil drunk so one of those guys offered to take us home because we couldn't drive, we are at your house, come home girl” Lisa said and hang up the call.

He heard what Lisa said and then offered to take her home, she refused at first but when she saw it was late and she couldn't go home alone, she agreed, and he had a car too. He led her to where he packed her car and then opened the passenger seat for her, she went in, he turn over and went to the driver's side.

“So where is your home?” He asked.

“Just go, I will tell you when to stop”. She replied

“You look pretty and I love your lips. Can I kiss it?” He asked smiling while going closer to her face.

“Stop! Just drive!”.

“Ok, ok”. He replied

When she bent her head to look at her phone, he raised her head up, turned her face toward his and gave her a kiss on the lips, she grabbed his face, while his hands went down her waist and he carresed it. When she regained herself, she stopped and pushed him away. He smirked.

“Can you just drive, you moron!” She yelled at him.

He started the car engine and said,

“We gonna do this often” she turn her face to the window and looked outside, she smiled when he said it and he drove off.

“He's hot and I will need more of this” she thought in her mind and smirked while he drove off.
