Unexpected Forever

Chapter 2: Lunch with Boss

Maya woke up from sleep on her empty bed, after stretching and rolling from one corner of the bed to the other, she finally stepped down, she wore her fluffy slippers and stretch more before heading to the window, she drew the rope beside the curtain and they opened from between, she looked at the sun, it was so bright and she hoped to have such a bright day at work. She rearranged her bed neatly, placing the duvet nearly on the bedsheet, she picked up pink fluffy teddy bear from the floor beside the bed, and placed at the right side of the bed, she pecked the teddy bear on the cheek. She immediately head to the kitchen where she went to make breakfast, she made fried eggs which she ate with two slice of bread. She went back to her room where she took off her clothes tied a white towel round her chest and went into the bathroom to take her bath, in less than 15 minutes she was out looking cool and refreshed. She went to her table which had a mirror and where her cosmetics where arranged properly, took her body lotion applied gently on her skin then she took her serum and apply on her face thereafter she applied her sunscreen on. She went to her wardrobe, took a milky white blouse and a brown skirt, she went to the mirror to see if the dress was good, and she confirmed to herself it was good, she quickly put them on, took a brown stillleto from her shoe rag and wore that too, she picked up her bag amd went back to the mirror for an outfit check, when she looked at the mirror she smiled, she opened her drawers where her lipsticks and lipgloss were, picked her pink lipgloss and applied it on her lip, she dabbed her lips and smiled again. As she placed the lipgloss back into the drawer, her phone rang, it was her boss, she was a little shock she first looked at the time on her phone before taking the call, it was just few minutes to 7am which means she wasn't late so why would he be calling her so early she thought yo herself. She summoned the courage and took the call.

“Good morning boss”

“I have a meeting to attend by 10am at Eastgate with the CEO and some other executives of the Brian Networking group of company and you're going with me as my personal assistant”.

“Ok boss” she replied.

“But what of…” he hung up

He had a personal assistant, Kira, who usually follows him to all his meetings but he chooses her to follow him today which made her a little worried and nervous, she looked at herself in the mirror again, smiled and left her room to the living room, and when she got outside she locked her door and heade to the road where she could find a bus to work.

It's 9:40am, she was preparing to go to her boss's office so shw could assist him with his bag. She brought out a small portable mirror from her bag, placed it beside a set of books she had arranged on top each other so she could see herself well in the mirror, she styled her hair into a ponytail applied a little brown powder on her face and applied jer lipgloss to. She looked at the mirror and smiled, them she said to herself

“Such a beautiful lady” and then smiled again.

She put her powder, lipgloss and mirror into her bag, stood up, arranged her blouse and drew jer skirt down, brought out her perfume, sprayed it all over her body put it back inyo her bag and with confidence she smiled amd walked out of her office with her handbag.

“Hi Maya” Sam greeeted her

“Hi Sam”

“You look good, where you heading to?”

“To the boss's offfice. Any issue?”

“No issue. How about I take you for a lunch later?”

“Thank you but am not interested” she passed him begin to catwalk.

As soon as she got close to the boss office her confidence reduced, she was a little nervous again. She knocked at the door, bemd the handle a little and the door opened.

“Good morning boss” she greeted with her heads bowed down

“Ms. Maya, are you ready?”

“Yes boss”

“Take this bag, call the driver, tell him we are using the Ferrari” He handed her his bag and she left the office.

He followed her shortly. The driver opened the back seat door for him, he got in and didn't see Maya there, she was sitting in the front seat with the driver, he was angry when he sighted her there.

“What you doing you young lady?”

She couldn't speak because she didn't know what to reply him

“Get here right now!” He commanded

She got down from the front seat and went to sit with him at the back seat.

“When next you're going out with me, you sit here and not there. Is that clear?”

“Yes boss”

“You can go Graham”.

“You open the door for her!” Her boss commanded the driver to open the door for Maya.

They were done with the meeting and she did well, he applauded her very well when they got into the car and for the first time after years of working with him, he smiled.

“You did so well, Ms. Maya. Keep it up” he said and smiled.

“Thank you boss” she smiled shyly with her heads bowed down

“I guess you will be going with me for other meeting” he said with his face up

“Boss!” She replied shocked and raised her head up

He doesn't speak twice, whatever he says stands, Maya remembered and kept her heads down again.

“Drop us at the Eastford Restaurant Graham”

“Ok boss”

Graham got down from the car and immediately opened the boss's door with his head bowed, thw boss got down and he closed the door. Maya had already gone out of the car and stood in front of the car waiting for her boss. He came, smiled at her and the held her hand like they were couple walking down the aisle and they majestically walked into the restaurant. When they got in, he moved a chair backwards for her to sit before going back to sit across her, the driver waited for them in the car. They got served and they ate quietly but her boss won't stop staring at her, although his gaze looks scary at times but it was beautiful she thought in her mind. He held hee right hand and pecked it, she smirked and lower her head. Soon they were done eating and she stood up, but kicked her leg against the table and almost fell but he grabbed her by her waist, then looked in her eyes, their face were so closed that it was only a little space between their lips tht was left, he kissed her passionately and she reciprocated it holding his beards which were a little full like a mustache. She withdrew her lips from his and bowed her head down again and he whispered to her ears

“I love it”

She smirked again, he took her bag from the table were it laid and as they were about to use the door he saw his fiance, she had saw what he did and was disappointed, she ran away crying and went back to her car, he went after hee but her driver had already drove off by the time he got outside. He was angry to the extent he threw Maya’s bag he was holding and stamped his feet in disappointment on the ground. Maya stood at the entrance of the restaurant confused and in awe. He moved aggressively to his car opened the door by himself and got in, he yelled at the driver to drive off leaving Maya behind and her bag on the ground. As the driver reversed the car to leave Maya ran towards her bag, picked it up hoping she could catch up with them but Graham drove off with speed. Tears dropped from her eyes, anything could happen, she thought.
