Her Royal Right

A New Land

As the sun is rising, Prince Dominic wakes up, startled, looking for his little sister. He sees that one of the guardians has her, and she is happily playing with a bunny. Dominic, who is only 18 years old, is scared for his little sister and their fate. He now has to look to the Guardians for guidance.  “Guardian Elijah, what are we going to do? We have only each other and no paket (pack). Are we ruž (rouge)?”  I asked him. 

“I do not know Prince Dominic.” Guardian Elijah tells him. “But I know we can not stay here.” 

“No, we can not; it is not safe for all of you.” Guardian Isaiah states. Prince Ezekiel wakes up and looks to his brother and guardians and realized that they do not have the pack Crest. “What happened to your paket crest, everyone?” Prince Ezekiel asked, shocked at what he saw. When he looked at his siblings and guardians, he saw that the once-proud crest of the royal paket was now gone. They did not indicate that they were different than the rest. Ezekiel looked at his sister with sadness in his eyes. “How will she know how poseban (special) and važno (important) she is if we are not known to be different?” Ezekiel asked everyone. The Guardians looked at each other and Prince Dominic and said, “ Ne znam (I do not know).” 

“We need to figure out what we are going to do and how we are going to survive,” Elijah said. 

“Yeah, I think we need to start moving and heading to the nearest town to see where we are at and get money converted to whatever currency they have here,” Isaiah said. “Do the Princes agree?”

“Yes.” The princes said at once.

 Prince Ezekiel looked at the Guardians and said,  “ I think you Guardians should not call us by our titles here; it could lead the council to us.” 

“I agree with Ezekiel, and we cannot let anyone see Lilly (Lillian). It will be hard to explain why she can wield magic while we are here until she finds her mate.” Dominic said. 

“Why?” Isaiah asked, “The Queen had informed me that the new land does not know much of the Royals and how we operate or customs and traditions. It will be unfair for you not to have your rights.” 

“ My father had told me that while yes, they do not know us, they will know Lilly. They will recognize her, but it may take time for them to realize who she is to them if we keep her hidden for as long as possible. I think it will help her in the long run.” Dominic suggests to the guardians. 

“Oh, okay, then we will not address you with your royal titles till the time is right,” Isaiah said. “So, I think we need to start to move on to find a city to find out where we are and what we can do.” 

“Do you think we should find a pack?” Asked Dominic.

“Yes,  I think it would be wise for us to find a pack to which would offer Lilly more protection. Isaiah said.

“ So we are all in agreement that we will no longer have royal titles and will find a pack in which to live,” Ezekiel stated.

So the four of the men got up and cleaned themselves off and changed out of the traditional warm clothing. Dominic used his magic to which was the ability to conjure and create anything that he thought of as long as it was from natural materials. So Dominic made pants and shirts for them and a sundress for his sister. Once they dressed, they started to head out.

“Dominic, can I take the Mr. Fluffers?” Lilly asked Dominic with wide, hopeful eyes. Dominic looked at his baby sister, wanting to say yes, but he knew that they could not. He told her, “No, Mena (Lilly), we can not take Mr. Fluffers, but when we get too where we are going, you can have a new Mr. Fluffers. How does that sound?” 

“NO, I want to this, Mr. Fluffers!” Lilly stated as she started to cry, holding the tiny creature to her heart.

“Lilly, he is a wild animal, and we must respect the wildlife and let it live in its own home. That bunny is not a toy or a pet. He needs to stay with his family. Okay?” Elijah said. 

“Okay Guardian Elijah, I do not want to take Mr. Fluffers away from his mommy and daddy. They may miss him,” Lilly told Elijah. Elijah looked at Lilly with tears in his eyes. He thought in amazement on how much compassion and understanding of how it was to lose her family. He bent down and picked her up after she had said her goodbyes and set the bunny down. 

“Your a good little girl, Lilly. Do you think you can walk a while, then we will take turns carrying you.” Elijah asked.

“Yes; Guardian Elijah, do you think I can be in wolfie form? It will be fun to run with the other animals. Please, Guardian Elijah, I will be your best buddy.” Lilly told him. Elijah laughed; the others looked at him questionably. As he is bent over with uncontrollable laugher, he explains to the others what happened. 

“Yes, we can shift, sweet girl,” Elijah said once he could control his laughter. He watched her shift into the tiny grey pup that she was. Elijah looked confused because he knew that she was iridescent white. He looked to the Princes and asked them to shift as well. Once they did, he saw that they were grey like the Lilly. He looked to his brother and asked him to shift. Once he did shift, he saw that his brother was black, but not the midnight black that he once was. He was confused, and once he had shifted, he mind linked his brother and asked him what color he was.

“Your black Elijah, but it is different. I can not describe it, and did you see the princes and princess. They are grey and not white.” Isaiah said. Thought the mind link, the princes and the princess could hear. Ezekiel thought it was because of the magic that their parents had used to get them here, but he said nothing. 

“We need to start moving if we want to find a town soon,” Dominic said.

 They started to trot next to the princess—her brothers next to her and a guardian on each side. Lilly was running and playing as they went. Her brothers would nudge her when she would try to wander off. They realized Lilly was getting tired when she slowed down to a walk. She suddenly stopped and sat down and started whimpering. Ezekiel came up to her and nudged her with his nose and rubbed his face against hers. She mind linked him, “Ezie, I am so hungry. When are we going to eat?” He had not thought of that her being a small pup; she would need to eat more often than they would. He looked around to see if he could find something for them to eat. Isaiah had heard through the mind link, and he knew that there was some food back in the forest. So he mind link them all and told them to stay as he would look for food and for them to set up camp near the river. They would be camping there for the night. When Isaiah came back with food, he saw that there was a fire going and tents up for them to sleep. He saw that Lilly was crying because she was so hungry. He went up to her and gave her a large red shiny apple. She looked at it and took it and started to eat it happily. He went over to the fire and began to cook the meat he had gotten for them to eat. As they ate, they knew that tomorrow was going to be a long day.
