Prologue
"Hey! Ash how's school?" dad asking.
"Do you really need to ask?" I don't get it he's never here he's always away and abroad, always on a trip.
"You should hold that tone young man, Or you'll end up boarding school next year" dad snapped and warned me.
"Who cares. I have enough savings to leave." I grunted and went up to my room and leave the old man to his business.
"Mom would never approve of your plans for me. If only she's here." I whisper to myself.
I lay myself in bed and stared at the ceiling. Why can't I have a simple life and live away from his stress with his business. Only mom's here. She knows what to do.
*knock *knock
"Ash? Are you there?" a familiar voice was knocking
"Sally?!" I stood up and opened the door. And in my surprise it's my sister!
I hugged her tight knowing she's been away and haven't came back for months.
"Pack your stuff, you are coming with me." she demanded, why all of the sudden?
"What? where are we going?" I asked. She only smiled.
I packed my stuff and left with her. I didn't bother asking and saw the old man with his newspaper in the living room sitting in his chair. He didn't mind us leaving. Sally bids him farewell and kissed him. I think he knows what's going on.
"Where are we going?" I asked her again.
"To mom" she says. What? She found her?
"Where?!" I gasped..
"Boston" I felt excitement and felt sad knowing she's been gone for 5 months now and she's in Boston all those time.
"How is she..?" I hope she's fine..
"Not okay. We've been hiding the truth but I think it's enough for you to know everything.." what? I'm confused..
"She's sick for a long time now Ash. I was taking care of her since she doesn't want everything to get affected. Dad knows that's why he brought mom to Boston to be cured and now she's in a coma. Let's hope she wakes up.. Anyway dad is selling our house and will be following us back to Boston back to our hometown.." she explains everything and I can see in her eyes pain which I quite don't understand..
Dad lost everything in Florida no wonder he's always away most of the time. I understand now..
I'll be back in Boston in a few minutes. I'll see her again.
(At the Hospital)
"So she's been like that since Dad moved her here?" I asked
"No, remember when mom left without notice" I remember when I got home Dad was looking for her and she called Sally.
"Mom.." I looked at her and I felt like I was to blame for what happened.
"No, Mom was hiding it from us.. She stayed with me for 2 years because she said she wasn't feeling okay at home that they've been fighting but that wasn't true. Dad came that day and explained to me that there were no arguments. Mom said she wanted some time alone Dad gave it to her but still took care of her most of the time. Then suddenly a week ago she fell off the stair rushing at my apartment and when she fell unconscious Dad rushed her to the hospital and we soon knew she have cancer. We thought it was just a simple head ache that all the medicine that she was taking was for her cancer. They found a tumor in her brain that caused her to loose balance bringing her to coma and will be needing a surgery soon" she explains..
"So you mean that time, Dad wasn't home he was with you and mom. You knew Mom wasn't okay. " I felt furious everyone hiding everything from me.
"Mom hid it from us that her cancer is getting worst! All I know she wanted to stay away from you because she knows you'll quit school. I just drove her to places she wanted to go she's been in coma for a week Ash! I didn't know anything till last week!!!" she was crying hysterically. I feel my sister's pain. We can't accept the fact she's ill and will be gone soon.
4 months passed, I'm now studying here in Boston and we are living simple now. They were right Be careful what you wish for.
Ashton Fritz, 18, a Senior from Boston. Basketball MVP and bae magnet. If you ask I do good at school don't even think about it. I'm 6ft tall and fair skin, dark brown hair with brown hazel eyes. Imagine like I'm your ordinary Orlando Bloom. If you had read my story above now you know how miserable my life is now. My family lost everything from shares to investments.
"Hey Ash! wanna do some shoots?"
That's Derik Baxter my best friend, "Been a while bro, welcome back" and here's Louis Fallon "Ash my man! How are you? been so long" These guys have been my friends since middle school and when I left for Florida they had a hard time replacing me in the team.
"Mr. Fritz welcome to Boston" and that's Coach Scott he's like a brother to me.. A brother I mean he's my sister's suitor and still until now.. "So are you interested in joining the team?" I nodded in agreement and settled everything..
"Then in that case training after class.." we went in and I noticed a lot had changed..
The wall been repainted and the rooms.
"Oh, Hey bookworm hows my homework?" Derik grabbed seem to be a sophomore from Class A..
"Uhh.. it's on your...desk sir.. your homework is on your desk" Derik smirked and dropped the sophomore down..
"That's good.. now move!" the boy sprinted out of our way and the guys were still the same as before.
"Well I thought a lot changed here well I guess not.." we laughed our way to the classroom and I noticed girls freshmen, sophomore and even seniors kept staring at us..
"Dude! since you came girls have been drooling.." Louis exaggerating the people's reaction..
"Is she still here?"
"I don't think so man.. Since you left we haven't seen her" Derik said.
Where is she...
