“Where is it, seriously? I'm starting to think those earrings grew legs and ran off," Katherine muttered to herself, frustrated. "Why, of all times, does this have to happen now?" Katherine glanced at the clock and realized she was running late. She'd been looking forward to this date with Andrew and she was resolute she wouldn't let anything get in the way. Nearly a month had passed since they'd last seen each other. Andrew's travels kept him away, and her commitments filled her days. But now, with a moment finally in reach, she wasn't going to waste it. "Here you go, here's your earring," Nancy said, handling it over. Spotting the familiar sparkle, Katherine's eyes widened with curiosity, as she eyed the earring with suspicion. "Nance don't tell me you took my most expensive earring to school!" Nancy's lips curved into a sly smile as she responded, "alright I won't tell.” "I'll kill you!" Katherine shouted, lunging toward her sister with a wicked grin. Her sister narrowly escaping Katherine's clutches, darted away giggling and yelling; "mom! Kate's trying kill me, help!” Moments before Kate could grab Nancy, the doorbell chimed. Grumbling under her breath, she muttered, "you won't get off so easily next time," too distracted to spare a glance at the visitor; She was startled by a voice from behind, one she instantly recognized. “Hey beautiful.” She spun around to see who was waiting outside; her heart skipped a beat as she recognized Andrew standing there. He hadn't changed at all; tall, with light skin and a captivating, handsome face. His athletic build and remarkable stature exude both strength and elegance, making him instantly noticeable in any crowd. With a faint, nervous smile, Kate looked up, barely meeting his eyes. "Hi, you came early," she said quietly, her tone laced with a timid warmth. “pardon my Impatience, I just couldn't resist coming to see you" Andrew said gently, his voice effortlessly alluring, enough to make hearts skip, “May I come in?” "Oh, right—of course," Kate replied, breaking her silence after spending long moments just gazing at his striking features and compelling presence. Overcome with irritation at the scene, Nancy dashed toward Andrew, pulling him into a fierce hug. “I've missed you buddy,” she exclaimed, reluctant to release the embrace. “I've missed you too kiddo, and how's school?” Andrew asked. “Oh, you know, just the usual—still swiping Kate's things and bringing them to school,” she remarked happily, her face breaking into an amused grin as she glanced at Kate. "You haven't changed have you?" Andrew exclaimed, bursting into laughter. “Never,” Nancy replied. Breaking into their endless chat, Kate turned to Andrew with a smile, " I'll go finish things up alright? Just don't let this little witch rile you up, okay?” She leaned in and landed a delicate kiss softly against his cheek before she slipped away to her room. "oooohh," Nancy teased with a grin as she watched Andrew's cheek turn red; "look who's blushing!" Nancy taunted, raising an eyebrow at Andrew's rosy cheeks. Ignoring her, Andrew decided to change the subject, “So, how's your mum doing?” Nancy cast a forlorn glance toward her mom's room, sighing; "I suppose she hasn't come home yet. Must be working overtime again," she said, her expression clouded with disappointment, “and dad isn't coming till next summer.” "Hey, hey, cheer up! I bet your mom is on her way right now, okay?" Andrew spoke, his tone light and assuring with a hopeful smile in his voice. With a hint of reluctance, Nancy smiled back, and right then, the bell chimed. A graceful figure entered the house, with an elegant figure that spoke of timeless grace, her skin radiant and flawless, almost as if untouched by time. Though in her 40s, she had the fresh, youthful glow of a woman half her age, with dazzling blue eyes that seemed to hold a world of secrets and a cascade of enticing blonde hair that framed her face like golden silk. Her presence was magnetic, a blend of maturity and youthful allure that captivated everyone around her. Nancy's voice echoed with excitement as she called out; "Mom!" She rushed forward wrapping her in the warmest, tightest embrace she could muster. "You came early?" Nancy remarked, a curious glint in her eyes "Of course I did, your sister's off on a date—did you honestly think I'd let you have the whole house to yourself?" Mrs Bennett chuckled. "Pfft, come on, I’m twelve! Practically a pro at this ‘taking care of myself’ thing,” Nancy scoffed, "but, like, if you want to stick around for moral support, that's... Cool, I guess.” After letting go of her mum, Andrew finally broke the silence. "Hello, Mrs. Bennett.” "Oh… hello, darling. It's truly a pleasure to see you again," Mrs. Bennett spoke in a hushed affectionate tone, and with a voice filled with warmth. Just as Andrew opened his mouth to respond, a voice, as peaceful as the ocean at dawn, broke the silence from behind them. “Hi Mom.” Katherine descended the staircase with effortless grace, her simple dress captivating yet understated, drawing every eye to its flawless flow over her elegant curves. Her dazzling blue eyes, inherited from her mother, sparkled with a quiet allure , while her skin glowed like starlight, adding a touch of ethereal beauty to her every step.
