Chapter 11

1040 Words
I woke early the next morning and made my way to training with my Dad. As soon as I stepped on the field, a hard punch smashed into my jaw, knocking me back and almost causing me to fall. Before I could register what was happening, I took another hit to the face. This time I wasn’t able to keep my footing. My father and Alpha quickly stepped in, stopping the assault on my face. I stood to see Kingston glaring at me being held back by two other pack members. “What are you doing here?” “I am a part of this pack.” “I’m surprised you didn’t stay with the Alpha’s daughter.” “I belong to Lillian and I will make this right with her.” “Enough!” Alpha said. “But” Kingston tried to speak. “No! Chase and Kingston to the packhouse. NOW!” We didn’t say anything to each other as we made our way to the packhouse. As soon as we entered, Alpha directed us to his office. “Sit.” We both found a seat and waited for our punishment. “Kingston, I know you are upset about how Chase hurt your sister, but throwing your first is not the way to work through this.” “He cheated on her. I was the one to pick up the pieces.” “As much as it angers me that he kissed another wolf, you must understand that when you lose somebody and grief takes over, sometimes you don’t think before you act.” Kingston just shook his head. I knew he didn’t understand. I didn’t even understand and I lived through it. He had never lost anybody and until you live through losing somebody you love it’s impossible to understand. “Kingston, both your Mother and I know that feeling of grief and, to be honest with you, I almost lost your mother because I didn’t know how to deal with the grief.” “You think Lillie should just forgive him?” “I think we should leave that between Lillie and Chase.” “Fine, but I am still pissed.” “I don’t blame you and I deserved both of those punches.” “You deserve more.” He said to me, smiling. “Your probably right but we should let Lillie do the punching. You hit like a girl.” We both just looked at each other and burst out laughing. King stood up and pulled me into a hug. “Chase, man, I missed you.” “I miss your sister more.” “I bet and just so you know.. this doesn’t mean I forgive you.” “I will work the rest of my life to make this right with her.” “You still think she is your mate?” “I know she is.” Alpha Jayson smiled over at me. “I hope you can fix this with her. She is stubborn, just like her mother.” “Can you tell me where she is?” He was silent for way too long. “She is going to call me today. It’s her first day of class and she calls me every other day. I will talk to her about you and with her permission I will tell you.” “What if she says no?” “Then you give her time. I know my daughter and she loves you, so it won’t be forever but….” “Thank you Alpha, I understand.” King and I were dismissed and I felt like my heart couldn’t take anymore. “You should see her work,” King said from behind me before I could reach the door. “Her work?” “Her paintings are amazing. Do you want to see them?” “Yes.” I followed him to her art room. It was amazing. I didn’t realize my Lillie had this in her. I could stand here forever taking in her art. You could feel her on the canvas. “Amazing, isn’t it?” “Is there a word to describe better than amazing?” King started laughing. “You should have seen how worried she was that she wouldn’t get into this art program.” Lillian’s POV Broc was waiting for me to walk me to class. He even brought me a latte. The first two classes were needed for me to graduate, but my third class was all about me getting to express myself. Professor Gray was amazing and she thought my work was amazing. I only have 3 classes today and 2 tomorrow. Since I didn’t have any further classes today, I got into a zone. “Hey, have you eaten?” The sound of another voice startled me and I looked up to see Broc. I brushed the hair out of my face. “Uh no I was just in a zone.” He laughed and put out his hand to me. “Let me help you clean up.” We cleaned up my work station. “You did both of these?” “Yeah, I have been here for a few hours.” “This is amazing. You are going to do amazing things.” “I don’t know about that.” “Maybe you can be a part of art show this year.” “You have your own art show?” “Yeah, but we will talk about that later. Come on, there is a really amazing food truck you have to try.” After lunch, Broc walked me home. I made my way to my room and decided to give my Dad his call before starting my homework. “Hi Daddy.” “Hi Princess. I miss you. Are you ready to come home?’ “Funny Dad.” “I had to try. How was your first day of class?” “It was good and I love my art class.” “How is everybody?” “Good..Your Mom is always busy. King well…..Chase came back.” “Oh No his Gram passed?” “No, she is with him. He came back for you.”
