“Or is it reincarnation?” he asked with a smile.
My mind goes blank and my face pales as I try to find the words to deny his claim.
“You believe in reincarnation?” An insulting smile plastered on my lips. “What a half-wit you are.”
His face darkened at my words. He gripped my arm and glared at me.
“Careful with your words, skank. Just cause I showed you a little bit of interest doesn’t mean you can disrespect me,” he seethed.
I can feel his anger and dominance in my bones, but I’m too old to get scared. If anything, I want to beat him up.
I inch my face closer to him and my eyes widening as I state, “I don’t need your interest. I don’t give the slightest f**k about who you are. I never asked for your attention and I owe you no s**t for it.”
He gritted his teeth, but he let my arms go. I tilted my chin like an adult scolding a child. I have a great deal of experience when it comes to disciplining children, as I have been dealing with it since I had a little brother, who could be quite strong-willed at times.
“You’re so f*****g strange and it’s so annoying. I'm going to let you go this time but do remember that this will be the last time you will disrespect me.”
I didn’t react to his words, instead I ignored him, turning my back on him.
“I don't f*****g care about the single s**t you said. Don’t ever f*****g get close to me again,” I warn him as I start walking away to leave. “The next time I see you, I’ll bash your face with something that could shatter it.”
But what am I going to use? I clenched my teeth because I knew it would be impossible for me to find something to use to bash his face with.
“Do your best. If you aren’t able to smash this face, I’ll smash you on that wall,” he threatens me.
I didn’t look back. Instead, I flip the bird at him and continued walking. I am already in a hurry since it’s already dark, and I was gone for six hours. I just hope that Hannah is not hungry yet.
I avoided the others as usual. The Sentinels ignores me and the other higher ranks eyed me with disgust. I nod to them as a greeting, even though I don’t feel like it. I need to abide by the hierarchy if I want to survive. It’s not always good to stand out. A group of teen wolves pass by me and they glared at me, some even smirk.
“What the f**k are you looking at, Omega?!” the blonde with deep-set eyes growls.
“Your sister looks cute,” a guy with red hair say.
I stop walking, ignoring the blonde and turning my attention to the red-haired. There are two other girls in their group, but they don’t seem to care about what is happening and just settle themselves watching on the sidelines.
“What do you mean?” I ask him in alarm. My voice, lowering in pitch.
The red-haired youth smiled nonchalantly. “Nothing. It seems she also tastes sweet.”
Without thinking, my hand automatically found his throat and choked him right on the spot.
“What the f**k did you do to my sister?” My heart is pumping wildly, and I can feel adrenaline rushing to my head, f*****g ready to commit murder. My nails grow longer and sharper, digging into his skin, drawing blood. Not enough. I need to do more. My blood thirst cannot be satisfied with just seeing a few drops of blood. My actions shock everyone in the vicinity.
“Hey!” The blond snaps out of it and moves to help his friend. He grabs my shoulders, trying to separate me from the red-haired guy, but I hold on tightly, ignoring the sharp fingernails that are digging into my arms.
They outnumber me, but I don’t intend to lose to these mutts. I kick the red-haired guy in the stomach, then swivels around to punch the blond guy in the face. One of the girls tries to grab me but I dodge and the other tries to punch my face, but I grab the first girl’s hair and use her head as a shield. Having been hit square in the face, she falls down, whimpering in pain. The other girl’s mouth gapes in surprise, regretting her actions and letting her guard down, so I kick her in the stomach. She doubles over, falling down, clutching her middle. Someone suddenly grabs a handful of my hair.
“f*****g b***h! Who do you think you are? Looking down on us just because you can throw some punches?!” The red haired guy snarls at me as he slaps my face multiple times. I can see my world spinning. My cheeks are stinging from pain.
“Don’t you dare let her go!” The first girl shriek. She then grabs a handful of my hair and threw punches at me. The blond grabs my arms from behind me and lets the girl vent her anger. She hit me so much, my face goes numb, but I know I must look awful. I taste blood from the inside of my mouth and it’s not just from the bust lip.
The girl is a hard-hitter, but it isn’t hard to read her movements, especially now that she’s angry. Her hits are sloppy. I move my head in a well-timed dodge; her punch almost hitting the guy behind me. I hold on to the red-haired guy’s arms, using his strength and momentum against him. I kick off from the ground, both of my feet landing hard on the girl’s stomach while my head hit the red-haired guy’s face. She doubles over, and the guy behind me grunts, his hold of me finally loosening. I did not waste time, I lift my elbow and smash his face with it, sending him to the ground, clutching his bloody face. It hurts like a b***h, but by gods, I will never let these little fuckers hit me again.
