VPrologue
The type of family the Mira's were is not your typical kind of family. It was dysfunctional every which way. The partriach Mr Mira had passed on a few years earlier due to old age leaving a very beautiful young wife, Agatha with two girls. Agatha being young and beautiful lived her life to the fullest after her husband's death, leaving the care of her two infant kids to their nanny. Agatha's outright neglect of her kids might be explained to the fact that her husband left very little of his wealth to her. Everything was left to the girls once they reached eighteen years of age. No wonder Agatha felt like neglecting the kids of the man who left her nothing was a way of getting back at him even as he rested. John Mira's decision to disinherit his wife did not come from a place of hate but rather from the need of wanting to secure his kids future. He knew Agatha would spend everything even before the girls got to teenage hood therefore he put in place measures to leave her comfortable without the bulk of his wealth. He had authorized his lawyer to give her a monthly stipend that was enough for her needs and the kids needs until they became of age and were able to access their trust funds. All these left Agatha bitter towards her children and her late husband. She had never felt loved by her husband but she consoled herself with the fact that he had money. His lack of affection towards her could be reciprocated with her love for the fine things in life. On finding love, Agatha had resigned herself to the fact that she was not meant to find love in this lifetime.
