Another bright morning greeted the day. HamTech was busy with work as usual. Inside the bio lab, Paradise Hammond was in her over -all white coat busy working on something that kept on fascinating her from time to time. She had been working on the blood sample she was able to obtain from Yaw Quansah weeks ago and the work had been smooth but not very conclusive. She studied the DNA structure of the young boy for seventh time and shook her head. It was fascinating and mind blowing. At the molecular level, she had never seen anything like that. Paradise was certain if she succeeded it was going to be a great break-through in the world of biological science and the whole of science as a whole. She had her binoculars fixed to her face and was taking samples from the green liquid in the beaker. She would lift up the beaker in the air, shake it a little and also turn it around as she viewed it from the side. The whole experiment was getting exciting. She would then record what she was observing in a note book beside her.
“Project De-aNAlisation in steep of a transgenic meiosis.” Paradise said and wrote in her book. Then someone entered from the back.
“Necessity is the mother of invention. Father always said that to us.” It was Hammond. He moved quickly eyeing the nice arrangement and orientation of the main biological laboratory of HamTech and the state of the apparatus and equipment’s.
“Yes, I remember that.” Paradise said and moved away with the beaker containing the green solvent and placed it under an electronic pipette. Hammond moved closer and nodded his head to the work of her sister.
“Any progress so far?” Hammond inquired. “Yes, but not conclusive. I am preparing the blood sample for P.C.R. The P.C.R - a Polymerase Chain Reaction is performed for a gene pool of a DNA sample to isolate a particular gene for further studies at the molecular level.”
“I heard about that but did not know so much about it. That sounds positive.”
“Yes, it is. So far from what I have observed is mind blowing. The DNA of the boy is fascinating; it continues to undergo sporadic mitotic cell division. This is novelty in biological science.” Paradises said excited having paused what she was about to do.
Hammond nodded his head and smiled minutely. He was happy that he will finally have what he had purposed in his heart to have soon. “And after you are done with that, we can generate an artificial serum that can be used to create our own.”
“We will get to find out how the family are exhibiting their abilities and, in the end, as you said we can also create our own.” Paradise said.
“Impressive. And how long will they take?” Hammond inquired. “Presumably, some few weeks. I will let you in on anything.” Paradise said and quickly moved to a three computer monitors and observed a biochemical reading.
“Great it’s time for the P.R.C reaction. I am going to react the already extracted form of the DNA with organic alkaloids to trigger the genetic isolation. Immediately that is done I will begin work on steroidasation the genes which are basically organic proteins into solvent form.” Paradise said and moved his binoculars closer to his head, already for what was to come next.
“Then I guess I will have to leave you and come back later.”
“Yes.” Paradise, as Hammond quickly moved away, not fully intrigued. Hammond exited the biological laboratory of HamTech and moved straight to his own laboratory. It was more of a workshop than a lab. As a chemical engineer he worked more as a mechanical engineer. The computer in his lab were ancient but had a higher speed and storage database.
Earlier that morning, he had received the news from the nearby town of Coastal Ville about some anonymous creatures who were going about killing and obliterating innocent and vulnerable Ghanaians. Hammond was saddened to hear that. He was beginning to think, all that was happening was related to the incident of the Quansah family. He did not like them so much even before he discovered Philip and Margaret’s kids had super human abilities. He was jealous, and the jealousy was turning in to hyper rage. He wanted to do something to also prove himself. He wanted to do something to show that he was not powerless. And in his rumination, he had gotten an idea. He was hoping to use his knowledge as engineer to build a device that could protect himself and his sister in case they are attacked by any anonymous creatures.
So, he had summoned Faisal to his lab, so they could start work on something that was very dear to his heart. As an engineer he was hoping to create something mechanical. Hammond stood behind the computer monitor and observed the reading of the different elemental metals he had in stock. He was ready to go. Faisal quickly entered the office of Hammond with a lot of files in his hands.
“Sorry Sir.” Faisal said. “You are late.” Hammond replied and stretched his hand to take the files from Faisal.
“These are the specs and oriental design of my Exegis Drone. It had many compartments from the tube chamber to the automatic trigger booth.” Faisal said, as he started wiping the screen of his iPhone tablet with his hands.
“That is good. But what you have here is small in size. I like to build something big. Something that can shield the whole of Africa. What do you think?” Hammond inquired. Faisal thought about that for a second and replied.
“Yes, that will be great. That will be a legacy. My drone can only move to limited areas and space due to powers size. Then in building what you hope to do Sir, we will need to make it such a way that it will be semi-automated.” Faisal said.
“Excellent, and here what we hope to build will not be wholly computer programmed but will also have that feature in cases of contingencies. It will also have the propensity to function as a space jet and a jet missile.” Hammond said and opened a three-D image of a sample prototype of what he hoped to build to Faisal. The image was daunting and endearing. On the screen was a V shaped space jet with human feature that also resembled a nuclear missile. Faisal looked on fascinated. He could not take his eyes off.
“Have you ever heard of people going to the moon? NASA. Space exploration is something that never enters the domain of Africa. But with this invention we are going to change that. I am going to prove to the rest of the world that Africa is capable of innovative and clairvoyant science. Science that breaks boundaries. Science the cross barriers, science that inspires the next generation of leaders. Science that make us proud of the colour of our skin.” Hammond said.
Faisal looked one. He totally acquiesced to what his boss had just said. “I agree with you Sir. And I am ready to make that happen.”
“Very well then. Shall we begin?” Hammond said and incepted work on his invention with
Faisal.

Coastal Ville, Accra Central.
The place the man and the women inhabited was an aluminum cased building. Doramo Sa-Tram the male and Mediva Sa-Tram the female were getting more apprehensive with each passing day. Their time was fleeting, and they wanted to do something fast – to secure the Norea for their Count. Doramo rose from the seat having heard a signal blinking from the pulse of his hand. Mediva quickly moved to him and together they ascertained the signal they he had received from the device that was attached to their hand. The readings were same all pointing to the same location. They both quickly initiated a command to capture the coordinate of the signal.
“The Norea had been triggered again. It seems we have been looking at the wrong place.” Doramo said.
“My prompter is also simulating the same reading. The Norea was triggered some hours ago. And from the coordinate and the geographical location, we need to move from here. It’s a distance ahead from here.” Mediva said. Doramo nodded.
“Triangulating and converging amplitude wave signals, the Norea is at a place they call Golden Creek. I guess we have been looking at the wrong direction.” Doramo said. Mediva nodded her head. “Perhaps, the Norea is angry with this earth realm - these feeble humans.”
“Or perhaps a human has been able to trigger its radiance?” Doramo said and that clicked. They had no idea who had triggered the radiance of the Norea. All the same it was good for them. Whoever triggered the radiance of the Norea had made their work easy. But what they knew was that, they had to find it. They quickly moved from the place they were and launched on to one of the main roads of Coastal Ville in their alien form. The traffic was solid and immobile. The police had made a lot of announcement about them in an attempt to apprehend them and bring them to justice. But no one in the town of Coastal Ville had ever dared to go near them. Many citizens of Coastal Ville had their friends and loved ones dead at the hands of the two aliens. And this did make most of the citizens petrified.
Doramo and Mediva walked on the road as many citizens watched them in fear. Many of the drivers were instantly petrified as they started blowing their horns hoping space could be created so they could drive away from the cruel aliens. Doramo and Mediva ended their walk by going near a yellow taxi cab. Instantaneously, the inhabitants of the cab quickly exited the car with the exception of the cab driver. Doramo took the front seat as Mediva sat at the back. The taxi cab driver was drenched in sweat as a result of the fear that had inundated the whole of him.
“Take us to the town called Golden Creek.” Doramo commanded. “Yes.” The driver responded wholly petrified. Mediva at the back smiled minutely and the cab quickly whizzed away as the traffic became mobile.
