“So, just for you to know, the woman is getting better and will like to talk to us tonight.” Philip said. Maggie was now seated facing her husband.
“I was hoping so. She had been sleeping for the past nine days. That is strange, and definitely not human.” Maggie replied. Philip then took out his cell phone and opened up his cell phone, and showed a thing to Margaret.
“What is that?” Margaret inquired, “This resembles a human cell.” Philip smiled. “Yes, it is, but a little different. I was able to get a sample of the blood from the woman and guess what. The blood was bluish in colour, definitely not human.
“That is not new. Then what happened?”
“So, I did a DNA check and observed her specimen under the microscope. And it turned out that, there were some structural similarities in our DNA to hers. She shared certain traits that were only found in my DNA, your DNA and the kids DNA.” Philip said. Maggie was getting apprehensive.
“And so, thus that account for the fact that we are connected? The fact she called me sister and called you brother?” Maggie inquired.
“It may be true. But what I discovered more was that, her DNA was more similar to what the physicist had obtained for us. She is not human. She is not from this earth. She is alien.” Philip said in an emphatic tone. Maggie looked on not surprised.
“This is not surprising any longer. At least we know we have alien DNA in our blood, and that accounts for the powers we possess. So, an alien entering into your laboratory at night is no news at all. But what I have been really meaning to ask is her connection to the Norea and the place she called Koneria.” Maggie said.
“What about that? Where you able to obtain the Norea from you Dad?” Philip inquired. “Yes, I have. But that is not my biggest concern. My biggest concern is the Koneria word.”
“So far from the search I have done, I have not found anything about the Koneria word” Philip chortled.
Maggie inquired. “We need to talk to her today. We need to find out how all this is connected.”
“I agree with you Maggie. Maybe we can show her the Norea, maybe that will make her talk to us.” Philip said. Maggie quickly looked on not in support of that.
“And what if she takes it away from us.” Maggie said. “No…I am not sure she will do that. I believe she needs to see it to believe that it is safe.” Philip said. Maggie was still not fully convinced.
“And you still have all the research you did on Project Alchemy, right?” Philip inquired. “Yes, I have all safe and intact. And why do you ask?”
“I was thinking if this woman is really alien, then she may be able to decipher the symbols on the Norea. We will finally get to know what the Norea is and what it does.” Philip said with a tinge of elation. He smiled. Maggie nodded too and smiled minutely.
“I hope so.” Maggie said.
-------
It was evening in the Quansah house and the family was having dinner. The dinner was boiled plantain and kontonmire stew with vegetable sauce and fish. Maggie and Philip did their good parenting thing by asking their children about how school was. The conversation was going well, and it looked as if the children were more excited than their parents. Abena did well to hide her excitement, but then Yaw will turn to her and blink his eye to her to keep calm. Kwesi was a little stiff knowing what he had done.
After the incident in the chemistry lab, Yaw had quickly cleared the whole lab like nothing ever happened. Kwesi was still healing from what had just happened. Yaw on the other side was so excited for his brother and could not wait to tell Abena. After Abena received the news in school she just wanted to mount Kwesi on her back and move him through the whole town. She was so excited for her brother. She was happy that her brother had finally discovered his powers - the ability to create ice from his breath. And Abena was eager to tell her parents about it. The dinner was almost done, but then Abena broke the silence anyway.
“Mom.” Abena smiled. Maggie stopped was still eating, “yes honey, what is the matter?” Abena smiled again and turned to look at Kwesi who had bent his head down. Yaw sat quietly knowing what was about to happen.
“Something happened to Kay at school today.” Abena said. “Really! And what was it?” Philip inquired now curious.
“Kay has powers. He can create ice with his mouth.” Abena finally spilled the beans. Maggie halted eating immediately. Philip also remained stiff for some time.
“When was that? And how did it happen?” Maggie inquired. “I am to blame mom, I wanted to show Kwesi something in the chemistry lab today, but I mistakenly set out a fire and Kwesi wanted to turn it off and he just blew air, and what came out was ice. I was my fault.” Yaw said.
Maggie turned to Kwesi who looked forlorn and smiled. “Are you okay Kay. Do not be sad. I am very happy for you.” Philip smiled.
“Finally, Kwesi has discovered his too. That is the best news for this day.” Philip said. Kwesi was now getting back the confidence that had quickly dispersed after the incident.
“It just came to me; I did not want to do it Mom.” Kwesi muttered in a sorrowful tone. “Do not worry honey. You have to be happy, but you also have to make sure you do not hurt anyone with your powers?”
“And how many people know so far in school?” Philip inquired. “Abena and I only. No one saw it when it happened. I told Abena.” Yaw said. “I guess that explains why Abena and Yaw were very excited all through today’s dinner. That is good news Kwesi. Do not be afraid. We are always here for you.” Maggie said.
“Now we all have powers, so we can call our set The Power Family.” Abena said. “No, we can call ourselves the Power 5.” Yaw rebutted. With that, there was a minute argument between Abena and Yaw. Maggie and Philip looked on smiling. As the conversation was on going, Philip saw from the study a bright ray of golden light. That only meant one thing. The Norea had been activated. Philip then prompted Maggie to have a look at the golden radiance. Maggie on seeing the radiance beckoned Philip with her head.
“Okay that is enough, dinner is done now all of you, move to your rooms – do your home works and study. I will be coming to ask you questions on what you have leant so far.” Maggie said, and the children quickly moved to their rooms laughing and teasing each other.
“Shall we move to the study for some answers now?” Philip said, as Maggie nodded her head.
-------
By the time Philip and Margaret got the study room, the woman was up and just admiring the Norea. The Norea was radiating its beautiful golden rays. The women stood over the Norea, with her hands placed on it and relishing the golden radiance. Philip and Margaret moved closer and stopped by the side of the table that had the Norea and the women stood also there. Margaret observed the Norea was still intact. The woman was filled with so much joy after the last bit of the radiation stopped. She then turned and gave Philip and Margaret an ecstatic look.
“Brother, sister you brought the Norea to me.” The women said and moved quickly closing the door of the study. Philip gave Margaret a bewildered look. What was happening to her? They both thought.
“I looks like you are okay now.” Maggie said. “Yes. I have been infused with power and beauty from Al Rao, the energy and beauty and the mystery of the universe, the origin and the end of life in Koneria.” The women said.
“And there you go again, the K word.” Margaret interrupted her. “What is Koneria? Who are you? And where do you come from?” The women looked on with a stern face.
“Today you will have all the answers you require. And one thing I want you to know is that, the Norea has to be protected. Enemies are on their way.” The women said.
“What enemies?” Philip inquired. “Enemies that came from where I came from.” The women replied. “You can please have a seat.” The women said. Philip and Margaret slowly took a seat. The woman was still standing.
“My name is Thea Do-Raal, the princess of the realm of Koneria, or the planet Koneria as you humans will call it. Koneria was a fruitful place that everything flourished. The vegetation, the natural habitat was all primordial and pristine. In the ruling quarter of Koneria, were the nine Clans of the Nine Houses. Like my fore name goes, I was of the house of Do-Raal. My father was the Count of Koneria. My mother was the Countess of Koneria. We were the royal family of Koneria and were rulers of the whole of the realm or planet. Apart from me, I had other siblings of mine, Niko Do-Raal, Ara Do-Raal, Mako Do-Raal and Keto Do-Raal. As the first daughter of my parent it was my right to be the Countess of Koneria. But a lot of people did not like the idea. Though I consulted my father many times about it, he assured nothing will happen and that I will be Countess soon. All our life, we learnt all forms of knowledge from magic, to alchemy, metaphysics, astronomy, and others. Koneria was a wonder to many who paid us a visit. And our main source of power or what we called the god of Koneria was Al Rao. We believed Al Rao was the source of life that supported every Konerian.”
“But as time went on, evil entered into the heart of my younger brother. Niko became bitter and he started practicing dark magic. At that, a sorcerer called Abinama Sa-Tram was the patriarch the one of the houses. The house of Sa-Tram. But due to his evil use of his sorcerer he was imprisoned to be shielded from inhabitants of Koneria. But as Niko started to practice dark magic, it awakened the darkness in Abinama Sa-Tram. With Niko practicing the dark magic secretly he drew more darkness into him and was able to free the Abinama Sa-Tram and his acolytes. They then gathered enough dark energy and rebelled against my father, the Count of Koneria. The war was brutal, in the end my younger siblings Keto Do-Raal died and the rest of my family morphed into the aether – into nothingness. The house of Do-Raal was erased from existence except for me, who was taken as a prisoner my Niko. I was placed in prison while Niko took his place as the Count of Koneria and the house of Sa-Tram became the illegal ruling house of Koneria. Now dark magic now dominated the whole of Koneria plunging it into total chaos and darkness after the disappearance of the Norea. The Norea, is the light and salvation of Konerians. The Norea is the source of life for all Konerians and that is the only power that can defeat the current reign of the Sa-Trams. But it was also destroyed after the house of Do-Raal was over thrown. And this is the sad truth.” Thea said.
Maggie and Philip looked on stunned by the story they had heard. This was more than rocket science.
“Oh, that is a great story. You are a princess of your planet.” Maggie said and asked at the same time.
“Yes, I am from the house of Do-Raal. I am supposed to be the future Countess of Koneria. And that destiny has been cut short with my evil brother now on the throne.” Thea said.
“We understand you Thea. I hope I am correct.” Philip said and stood to his feet. “So how did you get here? How did you get to earth?”
“I saw the radiance the Norea gave. The radiance of the Norea has direct link into Koneria. Immediately, the Norea lighted up, the whole of Koneria saw it.” Thea said.
“So, you mean your evil brother and his cohorts also saw it.” Maggie inquired. “Yes, they did” Thea said.” And they did not sit; they have dispatched two of their strong warriors to fetch it for them. And they have already arrived here on earth. We do not have time. Brother, sister, the fate of Koneria is in jeopardy.”
“Okay, we get it all now. But there is one thing I still do not get. Why do you call us brother and sister? How are we related to you?” Maggie asked. Thea look surprised.
“So, you do not know. You do not know that you bear the soul of my sister Ara Do-Raal, and your beloved bear the soul of my brother Mako Do-Raal. You and your progenies will be the restitution of the house of Do-Raal.” Thea said emphatically. Maggie gave Philip the look that said that she was confused.
“We still do not get it. What do you mean that our progenies? Philip inquired. “I saw them, my count, countess and other brother. You children also bear the soul of my father, mother and my brother.” Thea said.
“And have you seen our children yet.” Maggie said. “We Konerians have hyper senses. I heard all that you talk about during your dinner. And how do you think I can speak your language? We call it telepathy. Immediately I morphed into this earth form as human, I was able to quickly learn all about your world in a twinkle. But that is not to say I am better than you. I need your help to stop the evil reign of my brother on Koneria. I need your help to restore order on Koneria, to reinstate the house of Do-Raal. And that is why the Norea chose you. The Norea chose your family. You are the chosen.” Thea pleaded.
“We get you Thea Do-Raal…” Philip said. “No, Thea is fine. You still do not want to accept you bear the soul of my family. I will tell you. Do you remember your time you spent in Egypt, after your nuptial?
“Yes, we remember.” Maggie quickly responded stunned. “And how do you know that?” Philip inquired.
“Like I told, you – telepathy.” Thea replied. “So you know about out expedition to Egypt? What else to you know about us?” Maggie queried.
“A lot, not to hurt or harm you. I came in peace. And I mean no harm of evil to you and your progenies at all.” Thea assured. Philip looked at Maggie’s face and they both nodded their heads to that.
“We chose to go to Egypt because we were working on called Project Alchemy.” Maggie said.
“Good, do you know the golden scorpions that bit you? They were not normal scorpions. The scorpions were the dormant form of the house of Do-Raal. All that they were looking for was a pristine souls to possess and inhabit.”
“The bites from the golden scorpions, we remember. Do you mean they were not mere bites?” Philip inquired.
“No, the bite infused into both of you the souls of my father, mother, my sister and two brothers. After you were bitten, Philip you were inhabited by the soul of Mako Do-Raal, Maggie you were inhabited by the soul of Ara Do-Raal. Mako and Ara are my siblings. Hence, the reason why I call you brother and sister.” Thea explained. Maggie nodded her heard. Philip looked on stunned.
“It all makes sense now. And what about our children?” Maggie inquired. “Abena is inhabited my mother, Rama Do-Raal, The Countess of Koneria. Yaw is inhabited by my father, the King and Count of Koneria Pizo Do-Raal, while your young child is inhabited by the soul of my other brother Keto Do-Raal. I see the soul in you all. I do not look at you for what you are externally.” Thea explained.
“How is all these possible?” Maggie inquired getting more confused. “The bite of the spider made all these possible. The soul of the house of Do-Raal were infused in you, until the day of restitution. Like I have said earlier, you are the restitution of the house of Do-Raal. You are the chosen family.” Thea said and moved closer to admire the Norea again.
“So thus account for the special abilities we possess? I guess you know that too.” Philip asked.
“Yes, it does. So far as you bear the soul of the house of Do-Raal you will continue to possess your special abilities. What you call powers.”
“So that is all about our DNA being merged with aliens.” Maggie inquired. “You call us aliens because you think you are alone on this earth. But I like to tell you, there are many more creatures that exited more than humans in this universe. And Konerians is one of them. I have greeter joy in seeing and beholding the Norea. But nevertheless, we need to get ready for battle. The two warriors of the house of Sa-Tram are on their way and we need to prepare.” Thea said.
“We don’t like violence. We cannot fight.” Philip said. Thea then quickly turned her heard to Philip and cautioned him. “You will have to if you want to see your children safe. Doramo Sa-Tram and Mediva Sa-Tram are formidable enemies. And they will stop at nothing and will not care to shed any blood that will stand in their way from obtaining the Norea for my evil brother Niko,” Thea said.
“I see, and then we will be. I guess we just have to use the powers we have.” Maggie said and looked at her watch.
“We like to go back to sleep. And what will become of you sister?” Philip said as Maggie gave him a surprised look. “You care for me brother. That is so affable. I will make my bed her. But we do not sleep every night like you humans do. We can stay up for weeks we sleep when we are fully exhausted. In the mean tine, I will like to enjoy memories of the past with the Norea her. And, I like to meet your children soon.” Thea said and quickly morphed into her real Koneria self.
She had done well to give the Quansahs all the answer they tested for but that was more to be talked about still. Maggie and Philip then moved away, with hopes things would get better.
