Chapter One: My Little Life
Hey, my name is Anne. I'm an above average student originally from England. My family and I moved here when I was 6 years old, but the accent hadn't kicked in yet. My best friends are Dylan and Oliver- who are dating. I get along really well with most of the cheerleading squad and the jocks. Except these three (who you will hear from later.)

"When are you gonna sign up for the basketball team?"Dylan asked. I sighed. he asks me this every time he sees me wipe the floor with my brothers. "Dunno. Probably next month, but I don't know." Truth was I was too scared to try out.Playing in a team, I don't mind as I know I'm not the only one who feels pressured, but playing on my own with the focus solely on me, it freaks me out."Whatever. I'm just saying you have some raw talent, and I might as well share it with the world." This caused him to stop dead in his tracks. "Sorry, poor choice of words. I know you don't want anyone to know about, well, your 'conditions'." Dylan and Oliver were the only two who - apart from my family - knew about what I could do. I'm not a demigod like Percy Jackson or anything, but I can create fire and have wings that can appear and disappear. When I told Oliver and Dylan about the whole winged fire part of my life, we all agreed that out in public or on the phone, we would call it my 'condition'. We continued walking to the bus stop and met up with Oliver. I gave him a high five when we saw him, and Dylan just gave him a small side hug. They weren't big on PDA-which worked out for all of us- but they were such a cute couple.

The bus ride there was loud like normal but I didn't mind. It gave me an odd sense of peace. Everything felt normal until we got out of the bus. I felt a tug in my stomach, and my body heat went up a few degrees and in between my shoulder blades tingling. This only occurs when something is going to happen. I heard two voices laughing and turned to see it was Oliver and Dylan. I pushed my discomfort aside and asked the giggly twins, "What are you two laughing about?"
"Dylan just told me your brothers' reactions when you destroyed them." He replied, wiping tears from his eyes. "Now come on. Let's get to our lockers before lessons start." The three of us sprinted to our lockers, laughing as we went.
Yup. This was my little life, and I'm grateful for it.
