Jayden didn't need to introduce himself. on campus, people already knew . It wasn't just his looks ,though that helped . It was the way he walked , like he belonged everywhere. the easy smile . The effortless confidence. the kind that made people look twice ,then look again just to be sure . "Jayden", girls would whisper. Sometimes they said it like a question, sometimes like a wish But to him , it was just noise. "you know you are ridiculous, right " Jane said one morning, tossing her bag on his bed . Jayden didn't even look up ." Good morning to you too" . " I am serious" , she continued. " you walk around like a celebrity" He smirked " that's because I am " . Jane rolled her eyes ," you are not famous , you're just ..........over hyped " . " jealous?" he teased. She laughed." please I am your twin, I've seen you cry over food " . " That was one time " Jayden said . "It was rice ,Jayden " He finally laughed, sitting up , with Jane,there was no image to maintain .no expectations, just honesty. But once he stepped outside, everything changed. The attention came instantly. A wave of greetings,smiles , lingering stares . And Jayden responded the way he always did ,charmed , relaxed, distant. Because attention was easy , connections wasn't. He didn't do relationships , not real ones . To him , people came and went . nothing lasted. and he preferred it that way ,no expectations,no emotional weight . It kept things simple . Or at least........ that's what he told himself. Jane didn't believe it. " you don't let people in " ,she said one afternoon. " I don't need to " , he replied. She studied him for a moment. "one day someone's going to change that ".
