Chapter 31 marking

Casey's P.O.V 

  We finally arrived at Jake's house and I was still a little shaken up over everything, but just being with Jake seemed to calm me down and put me at ease. Jake drove up the driveway and parked outside his house, where his parents Lucas and Faith were already waiting for us on the front doorstep. As soon as I got out of the car Faith came running towards me and embraced me, nearly knocking the wind right out of me.

  "Are you okay honey? Jake told us everything that has happened." Faith said and I was a little confused, I never saw Jake use his phone once, so how could he have told them anything. Faith must have noticed how confused I looked because she just smiled and shook her head at me.

  "He linked us sweetheart." Faith said, but that didn't mean a thing to me and just made me even more confused.

  "Linked? What does that mean?" I asked, still trying to understand.

  "Linked is when we talk to each other in our minds, once you and Jake mate and he marks you, you will be able to do it as well." Faith replied, but that just bought another question up, what does she mean by mark me?

  "What do you mean by mark me?" I asked, I bet I was sounding so stupid at the moment, probably making a right fool out of myself.

  "Oh, I'm sorry dear, I keep forgetting that you're new to all of this. Marking is what werewolves and vampires do when they find their mate, it's to show others that you belong to each other and that you are spoken for in a way. He bites you right here." Faith said pointing to the part between my collarbone and neck.

  "Will it hurt?" I asked, my eyes going wide at the thought of being bitten.

  "It will only hurt for a short time, but then after that you will feel an immense amount of pleasure." Faith replied, which made me feel slightly better than I did a few seconds ago.

  "But from what I have read so far vampires and werewolves mate for life, is that true? Is it frowned upon if you're not a virgin when you meet your mate?" I asked, scared about what they were going to say, would Jake dump me for not being a virgin or would he be okay with it?

  "Sometimes we go our whole lives without ever finding our mates and I doubt that they spend all that time as a virgin. It isn't frowned upon or against the rules, it's each person's own decision." Faith said, reassuring me.

  "Jake, I'm not a virgin, I hope that won't be a problem for you?" I asked, hoping he would say it was alright.

  "Neither am I, so we’re cool." Jake replied, I breathed a sigh of relief, but it quickly turned into a yawn.

  "You'll be staying with me in my room." Jake said, smirking at me.

  "I bet." I replied, rolling my eyes at him. I hugged Faith and Lucas, thanking them both for letting me stay here and Jake took my hand, leading me into the house and up to his room. Jake closed the door behind us and I laid down on the bed, I was absolutely exhausted. Jake came over and laid down next to me, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me closer to him. 

  "I've been wanting to do this since the very first moment I laid eyes on you. All I ever wanted to do was hold you, kiss you, mark you and mate with you." Jake said, his nose buried in the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent.

  "Well why don't you then? What are you waiting for? Mark me." I replied, making him pull his head back and look at me surprised.

  "You might turn into a vampire, are you sure you want to do that? Are you ready for such a big change to happen? Will you be okay with this?" Jake asked me, his voice filled with both concern and excitement.

  "What else could go wrong? Rogue’s chasing after me, finding out I am mated to not only a vampire, but also a werewolf. surprise, surprise it's already happened." I replied, smiling up at him. Jake's fangs elongated as he leaned in closer to my neck, he sunk his fangs deep into my neck and I screamed out in pain, but then I felt pleasure. It was just as faith had described it. Jake pulled his fangs out and licked where he had just bitten me, then looked up at me.

  "How do you feel? Are you alright?" Jake asked, as both the pain and pleasure started to subside.

  "I feel sleepy." I replied, reaching up and touching my neck. I could feel that there was something there, but when I brought my hand away there was no blood or anything.

  "Come on, let's lay down and get some sleep." Jake said, but as soon as he said that my head dropped down onto the pillow and I was asleep.

  Jakes P.O.V

  Casey had finally let me mark her, but she collapsed in my arms straight after. Was this normal? Had I done it wrong? Had I hurt her?

  "Mom, mom! Casey let me mark her, but I think I did it wrong because she fell asleep straight after." I said, mind-linking my mom. I was so worried that I could feel myself starting to panic.

  "It's okay son, she will be okay. This is what is meant to happen, she has fallen asleep because she is turning. It will take twenty four hours for her to completely change and then she will wake up. Don't worry, this is all perfectly normal." my mom replied, making me feel better.

  "Thanks mom, I'll let you know when she wakes up, I'm not leaving her side." I replied and shut the link down. I laid down beside her and pulled a blanket over both of us, I just lay there watching her sleep.

  "This time tomorrow my love, you will be exactly like me. I just hope that you are a food eater rather than a blood drinker, I don't want you to have to go through all that." I said, gently drifting off to sleep.
