Chapter 26 what the hell

Casey's P.O.V

 What the hell happened? How did he get up here so fast and with me on my back? Jake lowered me down onto a strong branch and I held on for dear life, my eyes going huge when I realised just how high we were up. I looked around, looking up to the sky and saw a pair of bald eagles flying around. 

  "What the hell Jake? This doesn't prove anything, it only proves that you're fast and you're a good climber." I said, too scared to yell in case it made me fall, but he just rolled his eyes at me.

  "Alright fine." Jake replied, when suddenly his eyes turned silver and gold and two of his teeth grew longer. My eyes widened and I was so shocked that I almost fell after losing my grip, but he caught me by the arm and brought me safely back onto the branch. All I could do was stand there and hold on for dear life. She suddenly screamed, 

  "Why the f**k didn't you tell me this before?! You got me all the way up here so you could show me, now what? Are you going to kill me now?" I screamed, but the wind seemed to carry my voice away, so it made it sound more like a whisper. 

  "Casey, if I was going to kill you, I would have done it on our first ride together. We're mates, if you die I die, I'm in love with you. I would never hurt you." Jake replied, shaking his head. What? He loves me? We're mates, what are mates? What does he mean if I die he dies? 

  "Can you just take me home please? I have a lot to think about." I said, sighing as a million and one questions raced through my mind. First I find out that Katherine and her family are werewolves and now Jake has not only told me, but showed me that he is a vampire. I cautiously got on his back and he started to climb down the tree, reaching the ground in no time at all. I stood there looking at him and even though his eyes were back to normal, I was still really freaked out.

  "Come on, let's get going." Jake said, looking sad. I got back on the bike, but for some reason I wasn't scared. I just wanted to get home and have some time alone to think about everything. When Jake finally got me home, I got off his bike and cleared my throat.

  "Please don't take this the wrong way, but please don't text or call me for a few days. I need time to think, this is a lot for me to take in." I asked, not wanting to hurt his feelings, but he looked sad. I tried not to look at him or I would have given in and just kissed him. I turned my back and ran up the steps into the house, shutting the door behind me. I stood there and waited to hear the motorcycle ride off, then hurried off to my room, slamming the door and locking it behind me. I put the boxes on the bed and took a deep breath, opening one of them and like before there was a letter and a few photos. I decided to read the letter first, before looking at the photos and this one was from my mother. 

Dearest Casey 

  I know your father told you about werewolves, so it's my job to tell you about vampires, there are three different kinds rogue vampires, they go out on their own doing whatever they want, whenever they want and they kill for the fun of it, they will hunt you down and torture you. The second are the ones that feed on humans, they call them walking bags of blood, they won't kill, they only feed from them from time to time, do not trust either one of these. The third, is the same as the second, but they only feed on animals, they made a treaty with the werewolves, so that they can live on their own land and will only feed on animals not humans, you can trust them. The same way that your father explained the werewolf hierarchy, vampires also have an Alpha and a Luna, the alpha will protect the clan and his Luna, if you come across one do not be scared they will not harm you, especially if you're there mate. There are also were-cats, leopards, jaguars and werebear out there and they protect the woods. The were-cats hide from humans because they have killed them to almost extinction. I know that all of this is a lot to take in, but please don't be mad my sweet darling.

  I let the letter drop from my fingers onto the bed, I looked into the box and saw many photos. Photos of vampires and werewolves, how did my parents get close enough to take these? There were so many. I put the letter back in the box and placed the lid on top of it. I opened the other box and was shocked, there was money inside, with another letter. 

We know you will probably be needing all sorts of new items, so have fun shopping, honey and whatever's left put into the account. We love you. 

  I started counting the money and by the time I was done, I had over five grand. What the hell am I going to buy with all this? I placed the money in my purse, but it wouldn't shut, so I took some out until it would close. I put the box on the floor, just as there was a knock on the door, I looked up and really didn't want to answer, but I knew they wouldn't go away unless I did. I walked over to the door, unlocking it and opened the door to see Katherine, Bella and Becky standing there.
