All I felt was rage. I was stormed with dangerous thoughts when I felt a pair of hands on my shoulders. It's Ryker. "Clare, you know we don't want anything bad to happen to you and we will do anything do protect you." I knew the words coming out of his mouth were genuine but I still had too many feelings running through my head. I excuse myself to go to the bathroom. Once I'm in there I turn the water on, open the window, and climb through. As soon as I land I head for Jayce's house. He is sitting on his porch smoking a cigarette. I run towards him and slap him across the face before he can even understand what is happening. "DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD GET AWAY WITH KILLING ME?! MATE OR NOT I WOULDN"T HAVE LET YOU!"

"Clare I can explain. Please just let me explain." I go in to punch him but he disappears. I look around for him and he pops up in front of me. In the blink of on eye he has me pushed up against a wall. "LET ME GO DAMMIT!" I try to wiggle free but he moves his hand up to my neck. "CLARE WILL YOU f*****g LET ME EXPLAIN? MY DAD WANT ME TO KILL YOU BUT I CAN'T" "WHY NOT?"

"BECAUSE I f*****g LOVE YOU!" I stop trying to free myself and his grip around my neck loosens "I f*****g love you Clare. I've been stalling trying to kill you." I stand there stunned. So he really did care for me? "Wait if you loved me then why did you kiss Anna?" he looks at me as if it was a dumb question "I kissed her because you kissed that no good vampire. I don't like her. I just didn't like the thought pf you and him together." "Ryker is a vampire? And do you know what pain you put me through? I physically felt it when you kissed her. Twice might I add."

"Yeah. The first time she came on to me. I pushed her off but you power was breaking through. You were starting to feel the pain of betrayal from your mate. Normally it's not that strong but you are a powerful creature." "So I've heard. I don't even know everything about myself. I just found out I'm a creature of death. All my life my family told me i was special. I thought it was because I spoke two languages but now I get it. When my parents get back I'm asking them to tell me everything." Talking to Jayce has really helped me. Just an hour ago i wanted to kill him before he got to me but now I want to protect I'm from anything and everything. I know it sounds weird but he is my mate. I don't understand everything but I do understand that when I'm with him nothing can rip us apart. "Have you gotten your wolf yet?" asks Jayce. "My what?" "Right. I gotta remember that you are new to all of this. Your wolf is a spirit that lives forever. All wolves have a mate, or their other half. The two spirits are destined to be together. I'm still confused as to how we are mated because normally to wolf spirits are meant to be together. Maybe its because you are a hybrid but either way I wouldn't want to change this." His hand reaches out and snakes around my waist. I yelp and reach my hand out for his chest. His lips crash down on mine and I give in to his kisses. I move one of my hands up through his hair slightly pulling on it. His hands move up my thigh and stop on the curves of my ass. I moan in response. He removes one hand to go for the doorknob. As soon as we are in the house he lifts me up and carries me up the stairs as if I weigh nothing to him. We stop in front of a door. "Kitten, I just want you to know that I will do anything to make sure that you are safe and secure." "I don't want to hear any of that. I just want your body on mine." I say kissing him. With that he opens the door and we walk towards the bed in the middle of the room. In this moment I know I'm ready to give him everything.
