She stepped in the room and felt like she had enter a whole new world. She couldn't bring herself to believe that all of this was for her.
A large sitting room welcomed anyone who enter the door with its plush carpets and soft overstuffed furniture. There was a crackling fire in the large fireplace, that was surrounded by built-in bookcases. A door to the right led into the bedroom where a king sized canopy bed was the centerpiece of the space. "Your bathroom is through that door which also leads to the walk-in closet." Philip jestured to the door to the right of the bed. "I'm going to let you explore and get settled in, if you need anything there is an intercom in the sitting room. I'll have some snacks brought up and your belonging are already in the closet. I hope you feel welcome and become comfortable here. I know it's a big change from what you are use to."
"Thank you......um....what should I call you?" Oriana asked. "I've never known a father before."
Philip's heart both warmed to the young girl and broke at the thought of her never having a father figure, knowing he was part of that reason. It wasn't fair they had kept so much from her. "What would you like to call me?"
Oriana thought for a moment, Father seemed to formal but Dad was too casual in her mind. "Can I call you Papa?" she asked meekly.
A smile spread across Philip's face and he opened his arms wide to embrace her.
"Of course you can." She stepped into his arms and was wrapped in a warm hug. The tension in her melted away almost instantly. "I'll be in my office if you need me." He said with one more quick squeeze, and he left with a quite click of the door. Oriana stood there for a moment taking it all in, she then gently pinch herself, convinced she was dreaming. The slight sting told her she was indeed awake. She stepped back into the bed and opened the door the a huge closet. Racks and shelves and drawers lined the walls and there was a small table in the center with drawers on either side, her lugage sat on the table looking sad and small. Walking through the closet she entered the spacious bathroom, complete with and antique claw foot, perfect for soaking and a small fireplace set into a corner of the room. There was a gift basket sitting beside the sink filled with a variety of toiletries and a quick glance in the drawers under the sink uncovered a new toothbrush, and hair styling tools, and the narrow linen closet contained the fluffiest towels she had ever felt. She could hardly wait to take a long, relaxing bath. With a sigh, she walked back into the closet and started to unpack her meager belongings and put them into the draws and storage areas. She made a mental note of what she would need to purchase, maybe she could ask Cynder to help her with what she may need. Even thought the very thought of approaching the icy female made her shiver.
"Hello?" A voice called out from the setting room. "Mistress?"
"Coming!" Oriana called and walked out of the bedroom to find a small Omega holding a large tray of food. "Hello, please call me Oriana, here let me help you." She said as she approached the Omega.
"No, no Miss, I've got it, don't worry about it." She studdered out as she placed the tray on the small table. "If there is anything else you may need just ring the kitchen." And with a quick bow she fled the room.
Oriana was perplexed at the young female's behavior, she wasn't use to being treated like that by staff. In the manor house everyone was one big family and helped each other with daily tasks. She shook her head and walked over the table and the tray full of all kinds of devious food. There were cured meats, and cheeses, fruits, nuts, crackers and various breads. There were also small bowls of dips and olives. I large pitcher of water and another of sweet tea topped off the spread. Oriana laughed a little at the thought of her eating all this food. There was enough to feed at least 5 people and it all looked delicious. Her stomach rumbled and she realized how long it had been since she had eaten. She grabbed a plate and loaded it with food, then she poured herself a glass of tea and sank into one of the chairs near the hearth. The soft plush fabric hugged around her and she relaxed into its embrace. As her muscles finally fully relaxed, the exhaustion from the emotional rollercoaster she had been riding for the past 24 hours finally set in. She had been from the lowest low to the highest highs and it was finally taking its toll. She munched on her meal and replayed the recent events of her 21st birthday, there was so much she still didn't know and so many questions that had no answers. She should really be writing all those questions down but the chair was so comfortable and her stomach was pleasantly full. She snuggled down deeper and she could feel her eyelids getting heavier, maybe just a quick nap was what she needed. She laid her head on the arm of the chair and was immediately asleep. As she dreamed someone kept watch.
