00 | A DRUNKEN MISTAKE
evangelia
"Miss Maddox!"
At least thirty people shouted out her name, paparazzi taking more and more pictures each passing second. Evangelia threw her straight black hair over her shoulder while she walked into the establishment. Giving one last dashing smile to the paparazzi, Eva waved her hand, before walking in, two bodyguards in front and behind her, keeping her safe.
Eva couldn't help but feel content. She wore a smile on her face as her mind went back to the red carpet she had attended, minutes earlies. Everyone knew who she was. Yes, partly, she knew that it was because of her parents, Mina and Ashton Maddox, both famous actors and a well-known name.
At the age of nineteen, Evangelia Maddox didn't want to go to college. Not yet.
She was a privileged child, she knew that. She took
advantage of that. From an early age, she was thrown
into a world that revolved around money and fame;
hence her parents making her always do the best. She
had the best education, the best fashion choice, the best image.
It was the best, but for who?
There was no need to voice that out. Every decision
she ever made had to be approved by her parents. Sad,
isn't it? Both Mina and Ashton came from very religious Catholic families, making Eva a Catholic. Not by choice. Evangelia Maddox despised the faith that was forced upon her.
"Your coat, Miss Maddox." A voice broke her train of
thoughts. Turning her head ever so slightly, she took her coat off. Not bothering to acknowledge the worker that had spoken to her a second earlier, Eva made her way inside of the big venue, where a charity gala was held.
By her parents, of course.
Thank God you're here!" Selena exclaimed, bringing
a glass of champagne for both of them. Eva smiled
brightly at her annoyed looking best friend, before
taking the glass out of her hands.
"I don't think I'll survive another conversation about
God." Selena complained, to which Eva snorted, "I
understand, I hate these events." Eva replied, taking a
big gulp of her drink, hoping her parents didn't see how
unladylike she was behaving.
"Listen, you are leaving tomorrow," Selena said,
referring to Eva's vacation. This summer, she would
spent the most amazing three months in Europe. She
smiled at the thought, "So, tonight, bend the rules a bit
and let's get drunk."
For a moment, she thought about it. There were a lot
of people in the venue, surely, they would have much
more important things to do instead of looking if two
teenagers were drunk.
Knowing that it would be going against her parents
wishes, she shifted her body to give her friend a better
look. Grinning, she extended the empty glass to her
friend, "Let's do it."
She knew that it was a mistake. She just didn't krnow
how big it was and that tomorrow, it would cost her
everything.
