Chapter Four

490 Words
*Elias* You’ve really f****d this up Jasper. Maybe if you'd had the courage to talk to her in the first place, I wouldn't have had to step in. You only made this situation worse. I growled at him and pushed him back for me to focus on trying to salvage this. Maybe if I do this right she will choose to forget her and Jasper's conversation, but nothing could be done right now. His free period was almost over and he’d need to head to his next class almost immediately if he didn't want to be late. Maybe she would meet him later after classes? “Any chance we can meet at the large oak tree in the gardens? I swear that I'll explain. I really need to go to my next class.” “That sounds fine,” she nods and walks off. Throughout my next classes, I was completely unable to focus on my work. All I could think about was how I was going to tell her and the different situations that could possibly happen. I’ve known her for years because she's one of Camille's best friends and even shares a dorm with her, but I had no idea how she was going to react to what I had to tell her. What if she already knew she had a wolf and just kept it a secret for succession reasons? Or did she really have no idea and thought she was a pure blood witch? Her having a wolf, well it was posing a lot of questions in my head. How do I even talk to her about that part? What would this mean for our kingdoms though? We’re both the chosen heirs to our respective thrones, meaning one of us would have to step down. I don't think I could ever ask her to step down, but thinking of stepping down from mine, hurts to even think about it. I’ve been trained for this position my entire life and I love my people. Though I believe that Camille would do a wonderful job, more than likely the elders would pass over her and give the position to my younger cousin Joseph, an entitled brat that would drive the kingdom into the dirt within a few months of ruling it. The gods had to have a plan, or they wouldn’t match us, right? By the time I got to the tree, she was already waiting, the sun shining on her red hair making it seem almost like fire. She turns and I see her brown eyes are like honey in the light. Absolutely beautiful and Jasper fully agreed. As I looked at her, I realized the honey color wasn't the sun but her wolf, and I knew my wolf was right. She shook her head and the honey coloring went away. Continuing to walk towards her, I gathered my courage to say what I needed to say.
