Chapter Three

*Amara* The day had gone by fast and, without any incidents , he was going from class to class with Melodi. Thankfully, we only had history before our free period. Sadly, history was probably going to be the worst though. Mr. Clemmens, the teacher, is an absolute nightmare. I had him last year for supernatural history and it still haunts me. I don't even feel as though I learned anything last year from him, all he does is bully his students, and give them detention for the littlest thing. I'm really thinking of putting in a transfer to the other history teacher, Mr. Abbott. There’s no way he’s any worse than Mr. Clemmens. Walking into the classroom, I felt a pull to the back. I shook my head and continued to my seat beside Melodi. It’s honestly probably nothing. I settle in for probably the longest hour of my day, continuously looking at the clock. I just gotta stay quiet and get through to my free period without him noticing me. I really don't want to receive detention on the first day. By the end of class, seven out of fifteen students in the class have detention and, thankfully, none of those are me. As I made my way to the door, I felt it again. A pulling feeling. Sighing, I decided to listen to it this time and see Camille’s older brother Elias looking at me confused. When our eyes meet, I feel a shiver of excitement run through my body and a jumbled mumble run through my head. Maybe Cinder tried to mind-link me but she's too far away? Shaking my head, I waved politely at Elias and joined Melodi in the hall. I was halfway down the hall when I felt a tap on my shoulder and a shock. Surprised, I turn and I see Elias again. “Yes?” “I think we need to talk.” He says, “that’s if you have time and don't mind?” “I suppose that's fine.” I looked at Melodi and nodded, letting her know she could go ahead. “What about?” He looks around, and he almost seems nervous. It's honestly kind of cute, as I'm looking at him waiting, I question why I hadn't noticed how honestly hot he is. No, Camille’s older brother, off limits. He already has Clara that won’t leave him alone. I realized we'd been standing there for a hot minute and that’s when I saw his deep green eyes swirling with yellow and knew what was taking so long. He and his wolf are speaking. Camille does this a lot too, where she forgets about the world around her while talking to her wolf Ara. “Jasper, can you let him talk to me and stop distracting him?” I asked softly. His eyes then go yellow and Jasper is in control. I sighed and shook my head. “That wasn’t what I meant, you silly wolf.” His eyes bore into mine and he grabbed my arms, “where are you?” Jasper whispered. The jumbled mumbles reverberated in my head once again and I pushed them out, focusing on the situation happening currently. “Jasper, let go of me.” I started firmly, pushing him away. “I can feel you there, talk to me.” He pleaded. “What in the hell are you talking about?” I stepped back from him. “I think I'm gonna go.” I turned and began walking down the hallway when he turned me around, the sparks going up and down my arm where he pulled on my shoulder to turn me. “You can’t, please.” he pleads, His eyes shifting to green but not quite before going yellow again. “If you don't want me to go, let Elias come back now.” Sighing, he closed his eyes and when they opened they were green again. “I'm sorry,” he whispered, and looked down. “You wanna tell me what that was about?” I questioned him, crossing my arms. Looking down, he answers” Honestly, I don’t know where to start.” He runs his hand through his hair and looks back at me. “Well, maybe you can start with why your wolf just went all weird on me.”
