Chapter 30Andy hit the ground with a thud and rolled over on his back. For a moment, he didn't know where he was nor could he catch his breath, but then the air rushed back into his lungs like a raging fire. The storm…gas leak…house fire…bright flash…explosion! Coughing, he blinked and looked up at the blackened sky tinted in muted oranges and yellows, then felt a wave of heat wash over his face and hands as if the sun was beating down on him. At the same time, came the sensation of his head being underwater. He turned onto his side, winced then wiping his eyes, saw flames climbing high into the starless night.
