I ask him, he gives me a sad smile as I try to focus on his voice and not cry because I could hear him. “Iv come to prepare you for tonight” I frown looking at my grandparents “Why what’s happening tonight?” “It’s the eve of your 16th birthday, soon you will go right back to the start of your creation, your mother and hers before her and so on. Tonight you find out why your line is cursed and what we can do to cure your children” My head snaps back to his “Why would I see that? Will Hadley see it too?” He shakes his head “No, only the firstborn of your line is born with the curse, it’s their burden along with their firstborns to carry. Nobody but you will see these visions, nobody will know why you were cursed and what We can do to help” “Why do you care? I don’t understand?” He gives me a warm smile “Because you are Carter and Carlys people and that means your my people now too. I care because I don’t like curses, especially generational curses, we don’t blame a child for their parents sin so why would we curse a child who is innocent. Before Carly I couldn’t get involved to stop them but now I can. It’s why I brought you all together, this is bigger than us all” I nod my head, trying to take in every word. It felt amazing to hear, amazing to understand the words he was saying to me. “Ok? Will it hurt?” I ask, he nods his head sadly “It will, but I will be here and I will take most of the pain with me” I nod sitting back on my chair and I take a long pull of my joint, he tuts at me shaking his head “So young to smoke such pollution, I thought your generation was wiser than that” I chuckle taking another pull then I place it down on the ashtray and I nod at him “I’m ready” He smiles at me, touching my leg as he does it feels like a canon goes off in my body, shooting my spirit right out of my skin, I watch as I’m blown through generations and generations, watching woman give birth only in rewind. It doesn’t stop until I’m thrown into a body of a woman who looks shockingly familiar to me. She looks at herself in a mirror, she had Deep brown hair with bright brown eyes just like me. She had the same shape of face and the same button nose but her lips were much smaller. She wore a long blue basic dress, her hair was all the way down to her waist. I could feel the energy within her, she was Lycan. I hear a giggle from across the room, turning I go to the noise watching as a little girl who looked like Hadley played on the floor with a black haired girl, both were around 4 or 5, they wore simple little white dresses and had flowers in their hair. They sat on the floor making flower chains from wildflowers and they were clearly best friends. “You don’t mind watching zarabella? father is being ridiculous. You would never think I was head of the pack, he still believes he is” I smile at her, shaking my head “Of Course not. We will go pick some fresh flowers in the garden, come girls say goodbye now” The little black haired girl turns, running towards her mother and jumping into her arms. “Be good little princess, remember you are the future leader of the coven, you must act appropriately” She tells her daughter, kissing her head before placing her back on her bare feet. My little girl gets up and curtseys to the black haired woman making her grin, waving to us all. I hold my hands out for the girls to take them, they each take a hand and with the other they lift their little baskets. We take a walk outside into the beautiful forest around us. The girls sing and dance the entire way until we come into a clearing full to the brim of the most vibrant, beautiful wildflower, they take off running through them giggling as they go. I find a tree trunk and take a seat as we watch them sing and dance and giggle, the sound making my heart happy, I lift my head as the sun shines down through the trees, warming up the area while making me smile. the girls play for around 20 minutes, they hardly even acknowledge my existence, so busy talking about what their future holds and who they were going to marry. I smile listening to their wishful thinking, if only life were as simple as how a 6 year old see’s it. As I relax further, closing my eyes my entire body goes stiff as a rumbling bang shakes the ground beneath us, the sound was followed by screaming so loud my heart rattles in my chest. I was all too familiar with that sound. I jump up holding my finger to my lips as I rush to the girls who had both stopped in the long grass in fear, their baskets shook in their hands as their eyes snap to me in panic. Dropping them they run to me as there little chins wobble, I jump into the long grass and I pull them down with me “Mummy what’s happening” “Shhh shhh baby, you both need to stay quiet” They look at each other and take each other’s hands, both of them tremble as I hold their small frame close to my heart. As we sit in silence I listen for any movement, hearing footsteps I freeze holding my breath but I was too late, they already knew we were hear as a loud rumbling growl rips through the area sending a chill straight down my spine. “Little witch, little witch, I know you're out there, I’m going to find you little witch so come here” I look to Zarabella, she is the future coven leader, nothing comes before her, not me, not my daughter or family. We protect her with our lives. An old outdated rule that I despised but it was law. I listen as the rustling of the grass gets closer, closing my eyes as tears brim in them. My heartrate was faster than it’s ever been before, an easy give away for the monster stalking us. suddenly I feel a hot smelly breath against my throat, my world stops as my daughters beautiful face flashes before my eyes, it was now or never, I had one chance and I had to take it. I silently let go of the girls and before the wolf had a chance to pounce on us I push them forward while twisting my body around just how my mate had taught me, I wrap my legs around the large wolfs throat and I stick my fist straight up through its ribs, grabbing its heart and I yank it free from his heavy body. as the wolf falls against my body the girls scream in fear not realising he was already dead. That’s when everything went from calm and quiet to all hell breaking loose around us as more and more wolves appear through the tall grass and surround us. Protecting the girls was going to be difficult when I had 7 wolves circling me. Each of them eyeing the little coven leader behind my back. “Don’t freak out my love but I’m right here with you” A voice sounds around my brain from nowhere, a voice I had longed to hear for an awful long time. A voice I missed more than anything I could ever imagine. My husband, my mate, the father of my beautiful daughter. But he was dead and I was clearly delusional in fear “Your not delusional my love, iv been in your heart from the moment I left, only fear like this can break the barrier long enough for you to hear my words” My eyes glance around the area, he sounded like he was right by my side but I couldn’t see him, his wolf was not among those that circled me.
