AURORA’S POV Dinner started normal. We all sat down to eat, steaming plates in front of us. No one spoke as we dug in, even though Saron seemed to hesitate, watching us all begin to eat before joining us. And even then, he took small bites with his fork, his teeth hitting his fork and grinding on my ears. I couldn’t help but flinch at one particular bite, him having dragged his teeth against his fork. I looked at my mom and Silas to see if they were as bothered by sounds as I was. But they were so absorbed with their plates that no one seemed to notice or possibly care.
